metalX2?

I'm currently toying with doing the dinksDX treatment on metalX, only to a slightly larger extent. With plans as they currently stand, taking into account the number of sub-designs included with dinksDX, metalX2 could very well end up having 60 (!) sub-designs. That may sound a lot, but if I do seperate XP and 98 versions they would have 30 sub-designs apiece.

Here's a glimpse. http://grayhaze.com/images/metalX2_inprogress.jpg

Which do you like? They are (in order from top to bottom) steelX, titaniumX, silverX, goldX, bronzeX and copperX.

I've always liked MetalX and find myself going back too it, often. I wonder if the variation you are creating should have a different colour of glass text bubble. The green and silver together worked really great but I'm not so sure about copper, bronze and green... I like the copper alot btw.

Hmm no TripleX? seriously why not just thro them all in as there will be many people *i liked other one better*

I always loved the silver, only thing that ruined the whole look was XP badge on start button.

All looking good but silver wins for me

I'm hoping to get a custom colour version in there this time, so the green isn't really an issue. The only problem I see with including all 6 metals is the sheer volume of sub-designs this will create. For the novice user it might be a little daunting!

I have to agree that the copper came out really nice. My least favourites are the bronze and the titanium, as I don't think they stand out significantly. The titanium idea was really an effort to create a version with lower contrast for those who liked the original metalX.

I'd have to go with copper.

They're all good and I'd be please to use any. I would agree that the green is a bit much for the copper skin. The work in dinksDX is mind-boggling!

Hmm, I like the silver more, but instead of too many substyles I would go for 2 skins. Maybe 'metalX Copper' and 'metalX Silver' or something like that.
