Fences 2 Backup & Restore

Replacing Master Drive

Hi,

I am running Fences 2.  My master drive is going bad and Dell is replacing it in the next few days.  I took a snapshot of Fences hoping to restore from it.  It is not saving it with the name I am specifying but there is a "new" file with the correct date and time stamp sitting in the User/ . . . . /Fences/Backups folder.  This folder is on the drive being replaced.  What steps do I need to take to ensure that when i reinstall Fences to the new drive the snapshot will be available to restore from?

Thanks,

Ken

Fences wont recreate the icons that are on your current desktop onto any new PC it is installed on - the icons would need to exist on that desktop as well for any restored snapshot to put them into Fences.

Hello,

To be safe you should make another backup saved to an external device

i.e. external drive , thumb drive , cloud etc.

And another thought with the new hard drive Fences 2 should work for it

but it requires a newer version of Fences to 3 you can get an upgrade price for that

let us know if all goes well.
