Alt+Tab Suddenly not working on Windows 8.1 secondary

Finally replaced Windows XP secondary machine.  New machine is running Windows 8.1 pro.  For some reason, alt transmits to secondary fine, so does tab, but Alt+Tab does absolutely nothing.  Old secondary machine, alt+tab works just fine.

Primary is running Windows 8.1 and has been for quite some time.

New Secondary and Primary are both running Multiplicity version 3.44 Build 00090.

Please help?

I was informed to ask you to do the purge and reinstall step : https://forums.stardock.com/486104/multiplicity-support-faq#reinstalling

Please get the latest version from your account and reinstall it. Reboot and retest.

Thank you,

Did the purge and reinstall on secondary, problem persists.

In case it is of any use, Ctrl+Alt+Del *does* work.

And did so again on primary, problem still persists.  Alt+tab still working on old secondary.

Ctrl+Tab switches tabs in browser on new secondary, alt+space works, et cetera.  But for some reason alt+tab simply accomplishes nothing.

It is the weekend and support desk is off

till Monday .So they won't see this till then

maybe other help might come from others

before then. I think a problem with this is

few people use Win 8.1 anymore for testing.

I don't.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

There is no known reason MP would not transmit the keys nor have we ever had any such reports.  If you are running any keyboard / mouse software on each, it would be prudent to uninstall it (on each) to see if the issue persists.

One should also note that both keyboard layouts need to be exact for both PCs.

There is no keyboard/mouse software on either machine.  Tests show that both alt and tab are transmitted fine, it is just on the new secondary, alt+tab does not switch between active programs as it should.

In addition, after the uninstall-reinstall of Multiplicity, it is occasionally asking for registration/license on the new secondary.  Despite it being configured as only a secondary.

Purge the secondary.

That's what was done to the secondary.

Nanaki, that a Secondary would ask for activation is also something we have not seen before.  It may be time to do a clean boot on each:

Jumped through the hoops.  Problem persists.  Problem still not existant on old secondary.

Quick note for future reference: I had to re-enable startup for Multiplicity service before the batch file would be able to work.

That's what the batch file does, starts MP.

As for your other issue, Nanaki, I just don't have anything else for you to try - there is simply nothing known that should be impeding the process.
