Windows 10 crash

Hello everyone,

I installed the the WindowBlinds 10.71 update on my Windows 10 Pro x64 1803 build 17134254 last night, when the setup finished and asked to reboot to finish the install I clicked reboot and windows crashed to a blank blue background with just cursor. had to ctrl-alt-del to logout and restart, logged into windows to a blank black background with just a cursor. I ended up getting to the Dos recovery mode-command prompt and delete the windowblinds directory to get windows back. So I decided to reinstall WB 10.6 from a backup copy after deleting all WB 10.71 that I could find and WB 10.6 did the same thing I just described above. Also System Restore did not fix the crash either. Any ideas would be great cuz I'm a little disappointed and can't reinstall WB.

Hello again everyone,

Since my last post I've done some damage control being a little pst off about the windows crash. First I did a regedit and removed any instance of WindowBlinds, deleted folders-keys everything. Next did a Windows System file check to make sure there were no corrupt system files, which there was not. Next a reinstall of Visual C++ 2005 & 2008 rebooting after every step (good lord). And finally I did a downgrade of my graphics software and drivers, I had an AMD optional driver installed at the time (Adrenalin 18.8.1 MSI RX-580 8Gb) doing a standard uninstall and then using the amdcleanuputility.exe utility wiping the system. Last I installed the Adrenalin 18.5.1 WHQL drivers then installed WindowBlinds 10.65 and low and behold it worked and everything seems to be working fine. Hope this helps anyone having crazy problems after the WB 10.7.1 update. 

NOTE: The steps described in this post took quite a while so patience is a virtue and I'm not sure which step actually fixed the problem. in my opinion I think it was graphics driver corruption for some reason the 18.8.1 driver didn't like the WB update or vise versa  since there were no system file problems.

Hello again,

So I installed WB 10.71, after the setup uninstalled the old version and rebooted I experienced video corruption on the lock screen, flickering and odd patterns. When the setup continued there was missing text on buttons and the setup window itself. Also I did a copy/past when the setup asked for a product key there was missing text on the windows context menu on mouse over. after the last reboot the corruption was gone and enabling a skin worked fine. I'm still using the AMD Adrenalin 18.5.1 WHQL drivers.... Thanks hope this info helps.
