Items pasted to desktop go under fences
When I paste or save items to desktop they sometimes go under the fences rather than onto a fence.
(Otherwise just a great little app. ... a feature have always wanted.)
What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I set my system to send all new icons into a temp fences. and from there just click and move to fences you wish.
Here what I did.
1) Create a new fence name it "Temp" or whatever you wish.
2) Click on 3 bar line menu on that new fence. (Top left)
3) click on Organize -> choose "Place all new icons in this fence by default"
And all you new icons or files will be send to that fence.
Thanks

Hi Basj,
That was already done maybe by default, I presume, because I had not looked at that Fences configuration feature.
Maybe I did it and forgot about it when setting up my "parked/pending" fence. (Twilight years approaching. (:>)
Thanks for alerting me to it.
It was a real pain before I realised that by simply "peeling back" the fence overlaying the lost file, shortcut etc which I had recently pasted to the desk top, the lost file would be revealed.
FYI there appears to be no consistency in the problem, sometimes the file goes to my allocated "parked/pending" Fence which is set up to receive all files and sometimes it does not.
It is not related to fence overflow either as all my fences have spare spaces with medium icons.
Nor is it related to space between fences, because I can save to desk top with an inch between fences and the file mostly still goes to the allocated fence.
Also a "fences refresh" will not reveal the ovelayed file.
I "rescue" the lost file by dragging it into a fence and then things work as they should.
Maybe a periodic refresh of "manage sorting rules" will fix things.
I have only used fences for a few weeks, (purchased licence yesterday), so I will pay more attention to file type, the program I am saving to desktop from, and other parameters, and see if a pattern emerges.
Thanks for your help.
Alan
