Really want to use groupy, are these features possible/incoming?

Ugh - i had really high hopes, but theyre only half fulfilled! First, a simple/trivial feature.

Can we have an option to NOT add a saved groups folder to the start menu please? Make it accessible only via the 3 dots or worst case change the location its saved to?  I move the folder and it just recreates it anyhow.  Save it to documents or something or the programdata folder and people can make shortcuts if they so wish.

This next request is way more important to me as a multi tasking/multi display user.

I have about a dozen programs set to run at startup.  At least half of those open to pre-saved predetermined window sizes and locations.

So far this has worked well, but groupy would improve it even further.

Id like to be able to A) have those same startup programs, start up in pre-determined groups.

aka a saved groups feature that works with stuff like discord :) and that automatically runs at startup so my discord and slack both still run at startup but start up grouped.

Also the ability to remember what was grouped with what.

example: taking the aforementioned into account, id start my pc and have a discord and a slack window in a predetermined location but grouped.   I open up Riot.  It opens up in the same location grouped to discord and slack.

Trying to get all my voice chats grouped for example, but only some of them to run at start up.  Needs some means of remembering as A) using a hotkey is mildly cumbersome, and B) opening with a hotkey worked for some stuff but grouped them to the wrong window.

Hope this all makes sense.  its really early after a night of little sleep and my coffee hasnt sunk in just yet :P

Hi - i appreciate that :)  I know its still new - so im plenty patient.  Just hopeful!

Also worth mentioning (as opposed to creating another thread)

of all my office programs - the only ones that open with pre integrated tabs are excel and powerpoint.  Everything else is manually groupable of course, but doesnt open with the tabs like excel, powerpoint, windows explorer etc.

Is this a bug, something being worked on, or a configuration issue?

EDIT - one more feature request.  More hotkeys for "open grouped" as the ctrl hotkey for example (when clicking on an office program) tries to start it in safe mode.  Un-ideal for obvious reasons :)

EDIT2 - yea im the worst :P If its not evident, I just started using it so the spam of issues and feature requests will taper off, i promise!

That being said, when opening control panel, the tabbed interface is integrated.  Awesome!  However, when clicking on the + for a new tab, which I would expect to open another control panel instance, does nada.....

Regarding tabs it can be turn on and off via the 3 dot configure menu. Once you have two tabs opened in a group you can click on that 3 dots tabs and tick/select the "Always show tabs for this type of windows". Than the tabs will always appear after that.

I tried it by having Access, Word and Ppoint opened and grouped together and select "Always show tabs for this type of windows". And every time I open Access, after that, there is tab on it. The same for Word and Ppoint.

Thank you,

Hi again, and thank you for the tip.  Works exactly as you described :)

One issue.

If you try to add another publisher tab.  When you click the +, they arent grouped.  it opens another window elsewhere but doesnt open it in the same window like it does with the rest of the office programs.

I tried the checkbox for "group all mspub windows together" even though it wasnt neccessary for the rest of the office programs, but it still didnt help.

I assume this is potentially a bug?

Also, does a means exist to have all office programs open grouped together?  Say I open excel.  Then I open word.  They now open two windows (both have tabs mind you).   Id like for any office programs i open to group to the same window as the rest of the office programs.

Thank you basj, youve been very attentive which is always a good sign :)

Back at it this morning with another suggestion.  The ability to perhaps, right click the + sign and select what you want to open?  Perhaps pull from recently opened programs, or make it customizeable with frequently used programs.  Kind of up to you guys to determine the impelmentation.  But a shortcut like that to open differnet programs in the same window tabbed on the fly would be super super useful.

Thank you for passing this stuff on!

one more :P  If you cant tell the time between is becoming greater/slowing down.  Wont harass you much longer lol.

The modifier (in this case ctrl since its the only one we have) for opening tabbed does not work for items in the context menu.

Aka - i can ctrl+click powershell and get it to tab into my current window, however I cant ctrl+click the powershell in my context menu.

This leaves me navigating through mys tart menu to find it.  Definitely impacts workflow.

Also worth noting, OBS isnt capturing the titlebar that stardock adds/changes?  This goes well above my paygrade but it usually has something to do with hardware acceleration.  If so, perhaps a box to disable such in the groupy settings would be nice?
