Automatically minimizing "not responding" windows

Using release version or rc 1.2 version, if I have any windows that are busy processing or "not responding", groupy will cause them to minimize and resize once they become active again. This happens in some games I play during their saving process, web-browsers that have a non-responding tab, or when downloading images in firefox, explorer windows that are busy, and so on. Essentially, any maximized window that lags, will get minimized, resized and moved to the main monitor while groupy is active. If I disable groupy, the behaviour stops.

Hello,

Have you try, the purge and reinstall to see if it solve the problem. https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling

Make sure your reboot and if it still happened after you purge it. Try the Clean boot steps to see if there is conflict with other running applications : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#cleanboot

And see if it helps. And finally, Would appreciate if you could provide us with a video grab of these happening so we can understand it better. And The support team can reproduce it on our side, review it and recommend solutions for it. Thanks

Unfortunately a clean reinstall didn't do much. However, I spent some time working on the issue, and trying other ways to reproduce it. It sometimes happens if I open two windows and then close the inactive one, in this case two maximised notepad2, but it works with a few different applications so far.

1. Open notepad2.exe and maximise.

2. Open another notepad2.exe, which auto-combines with the first window.

3. Close the inactive tab, and then the primary tab will minimize.

There's a few issues with maximised windows.  Sometimes they simply don't merge. Like cmd.exe windows. If I leave one open, force a merge, each subsequent window will then merge, but initially, I have to drag and drop.

Also, some windows will have their tab bar outside the screen space, whether maximised or minimised. I need to use the taskbar to minimise/maximise to see the tab bar.

Oddly, explorer.exe windows seem to suffer none of these problems. It's like all testing was done on getting them to work perfectly lol. Well, except for the fact the quick access toolbar vanishes if I use a combined titlebar.

Tried to reproduce your situation but I can't seem to open notepad2 twice.. Every time I open new files the old one get close.

BTW I tried with Notepad.exe. Step 3 never happened. Notepad not minimize.

Have you tried with other program like MS Office i.e Excel, Word etc etc ?

To get multiple instances of notepad2.exe, you need to go to settings and de-select "reuse window". I've also tried Firefox, QSPlayer, and Notepad++, they all do it.

I will keep testing. Double check it's not an issue with another program, like Display Fusion etc.

Okay.. I get Notepad2 open two text files in a  group. But closing the inactive one does not make the other one goes minimize. I think there is something else making it goes minimize. Did you try the clean boot steps I suggested in reply#1?
