Limit of 9 pinned documents

In Windows 7, there was a right-arrow icon to the right of programs in the start menu.

When this arrow was hovered-over, the side panel would display a list of recent files you had loaded using this program.

You could also pin these files to a new list that would form above the list of "Recent" files in the start menu side panel.

Start10 also has this feature, but I am finding that there is a limitation of 9 items that can be added to the "Pinned" list before the oldest item pinned gets removed and reinserted into the "Recent" list.

This limitation seems to exist regardless of the number configured in the Start10 configuration under Style -> Configure -> Allocate room for at least X large icons.

Is there any way to increase the number if files which can be added to the side panel "pinned" list of a particular program in the Start10 start menu?

Sorry for the delay.

I've given the procedure linked a try on both of my computers which run Windows 10, and it doesn't seem to work as intended on either.

Perhaps Windows 10 has been updated since the article was published, and the registry value no longer works?

I don't even get the extended jump list as pictured in the article.

Does following the linked procedure produce the same results on Windows 10 machines that you have access to?

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. We'll be looking into it.

The "how-to" does change the number of recent files seen when you right click the program icon in the task bar (also in the quick start), but not in the start10 menu. That is still stuck at 9. I wanted to add that the "9" limit applies to both the pinned file list and the recent file list. So, at most you can see a total of 18 files. This is still the case with the most recent update (ver 1.6).
