Start 10 shows desktop icons but immediately goes into regular windows 10 look

This just happened. I can't keep my start 10 desktop up. It immediately switches to the regular windows 10 desktop. Can't system restore. Tried re-downloading start 10 but that doesn't fix the problem. Googled problem but suggestions don't work.

You have set your computer into tablet mode.

Go to the MS action centre and turn that off.

Thank you so much!!! There is no MS Action Centre. I googled tablet mode. In Windows 10 you go to Settings-System-Tablet mode. My laptop is now back to normal.
