Need help with WinStyles...

Ok... I am really annoyed. I wasn't able to download certain skins for applications in winstyles (you know... when you download and you get the box that asks you what components of the skin you want?) because I didn't have the program. (It said "not installed")

Now I have downloaded and installed those programs (such as sysmetrix and beatnik)but it still does not allow me to downoad those parts of the skin... it still says they are not installed.

So what is going on here... any ideas?

I appreciate the help ahead of time.

It's possible that winstyles doesn't recognize the installers for those programs?? Not sure. This was more of a 'bump' kinda thing

im not sure i follow you (on the 'bump' kind of thing). It may not recognize the installers... but I would find that strange since the beta versions say they are compatible with the front end program (i.e. the program that applies the skins when you download).

That means he was beating his gums and really just bring this thread back to the top so some one who knew the answer would see it and answer it. Now you understand what a bump is. Just bring it back to the top.

Ok, I reread your question and now I understand...sorry. Sysmetrix and beatnik won't auto install skins from winstyles. The skins will be downloaded to your computer, but you will have to install the skins manually. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I am not sure what your problem with Beatnik is but for SysMetrix....Make sure you have at least WinStyles 1.4 or above and SysMetrix 2 beta installed for Sysmetrix to be recognized in WinStyles. Also the Sysmetrix skins will change when applied

I don't know about Beatnik because I don't have it anymore, SysMetrix took care of my need for Beatnik

hmmm I apologize...Sysmetrix does indeed change skins. I have been having problems in the skin browser when I hit apply, I've been getting errors, but I did it just now and it worked, sort of. The author didn't name his theme folder the same as the main theme background so it loaded wrong. I know that Beatnik doesn't work.
