I'm not discounting any of this, but why is it intimidating to post somewhere that is mostly men? Being a man, it is kind of hard for me to understand. I have played MMORPGs now for so long now that I don't even register a person's gender until they tell me. Most nicknames are so unisex that I wouldn't know one way or another. Lemme tell ya, even the name 'Gadget Girl' is no guarantee to someone that has hung out in online social areas for 10 years...

Are there still people that will say " Oh, you are a girl..." and discount you? I can't imagine that here. It is so foreign an idea that I can't really grasp it. I realize that there is a significant difference in how men and women react to each other socially (as is demonstrated by this string, actually), but I can't comprehend being wary of a messageboard full of women (and lemme tell ya, i've been ganged up on by them plenty ).

I will be very honest and say that sometimes women can be too sensitive and take everything to heart.

If ya knew how many leggy barbarian women I have played with on Everquest only to find out they are geeky men... How would a gal know that a reasonable portion of the folks here aren't women? Is it that obvious? Just curious how you know to be intimidated in the first place. Not that you should be... If the women i know in real life are any indication, being competitive or argumentative is not dependent on a particular genital configuration...

yowza! me is only 5 lvls away from KEI but I was thinking more along the lines of casting "Dementia" (Single target magical direct damage) on you baybeeeee (me plays on Kane Bayle server) I never use nicks so I'm me in the game too, just maybe alil more evil but hey I'm a dark elf enchanter!!!
