Spammers

Deleting comments

Is there an admin out there that needs to be made aware of the SPAMMERS going crazy in the comment sections of members uploads?

Is there a way for individual members to do their OWN house cleaning in their comment sections?

iami88 seems to be posting some advertisement on all of my wallpapers.

You should PM Jafo with a link to each SPAM comment Sed, I get them all the time too. :(

They are very prolific. I've seen some of them on mine.

The report button on these threads work great. Seems you report spam and in no time it's gone.

It's a damn shame it not on the graphic threads. All those you have to PM someone with the link and any other information required. That's why I just leave them on mine.

One thing I never asked was does the post just get deleted or does the person also get deleted forever. Also if the person gets deleted does that mean everything he posted also gets deleted.

The reason the spam removals are limited to Admins/Mods is that the posts are needed to be seen/verified so that they can be removed along with the person who posted them [the Spammer].

That function needs to be restricted to our end as IP-banning, etc is emphatic and 'extreme'.

At this stage functionality is not in place for a one-hit-gets-all in the skin comments section, though it does exist in the Forums.  Comments on the skin database is a different creature.

Just PM me if/when there's a hit and I'll deal.  Island Dog isn't the ideal 'go-to-guy' as he has lots of other things on his plate as well...)

That answers my questions. To be clear if I made it sound like it I wasn't meaning to be able to remove anyone.

I always thought it was you to be contacted so I never bothered and just left the spam posted. Hell most skins get buried after a bit anyway so no one sees the spam anyway. It's all good, no problem here.

Sounds like the skin comments should be integrated with the forums... so the comments for a skin are actually just a special forum thread (perhaps in a hidden forum category).

Nah....the point is that the spam is needed to still be there when an admin removes the person and then the spam.  It's a cart and horse issue...;)

Sadly the world doesn't work that way.  The Forums are a separate database to that which is the skins and their comments...;)
