WindowBlinds Bug With Skype

I hope you guys can fix this.....

I have set Skype NOT to auto update, but it seems that MS update will update Skype on it's own.

I keep rolling back, but somehow Skype updates itself and I get this mess.

All skins do it, some worse than others, sometimes the line is really thin, just a few pixels. But all skins do it.

Excluding Skype would suck, big time. A few others I talk with, including LightStar, see this problem as well.

I can roll back a few versions of Skype and the problem goes away.....until Skype updates itself again.

Update to the beta version of WB and it should be fine I think.

I shall try that, Neil. I haven't yet due to problems being reported with the new beta.

I suppose I need to uninstall first?

Yes, uninstall, reboot and then reinstall.

That seems to have fixed it. I see no other issues yet.  Thanks, Neil.  I guess you can disregard the ticket.

I'm on win 7 and have never updated to WB10 and still use 8.1. The same problem started for me today so don't think it has anything to do with WB. I click on any menu on Skype, view, tools, etc nothing happens as it won't open. Maybe something wrong with my computer.

I'm just saying I never used WB10 on win 7 here. My windows 10 computer is using WB10 but I don't use Skype on it.

Dave, installing the beta fixed it here, on Win10. Also seems to have fixed the long running issue with rollup on Skype windows as well.

Unfortunately you will need to update to WB10.57 to resolve the issue.

Microsoft opted to paint a white bar over their menubar which is causing the problem.  The latest version of WB detects this quirk and works around it.

Neil yes there is that long White bar also. What I don't get is I'm talking about my win 7 machine. I have the same Windowblinds I have had on there for years. Win 7 hasn't updated for a while so how did Microsoft cause this?

I trust you as it is the bar and nothing happens when I click on any of the menus except to show those bars,

Also 10.5.7 is the beta some have had problems with at least reported problems.

Just thought about Microsoft and remembered they make Skype now.

I have WB 10.51 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and using Skype 7.30.0.103 and all is fine. If I upgrade Skype, it gets the white menu bar issue. If I upgrade to WB 10.57 and the latest Skype, Skype is totally screwed up, cannot even use it.

On Windows 8.1 and 10, I have WB 10.57 installed and the latest Skype. The only issue is the white menu bar, it still occurs, but Skype functions properly.

On Win7 does Skype function correctly without WB?

Really for either OS it sounds like something is messed up.

It also sounds like the build of WB in use is not WB 10.57 but 10.56.  In 10.56 the menubar would still have a white paint issue when it was made inactive sometimes and the menus might paint super large.  These issues were addressed.  I just put the latest skype on a Win7 box with WB 10.57 and it is working just fine.

LightStar: Can you double check what information is being shown on the WB about page and post it here please.

Open WB click on the ? click on change License and then Deactivate Local Machine. After I do that I can install the newer version correct?

Sorry Neil, but I am running WB 10.51 on Windows 7. I had many issues with 10.57, I could not even design skins. I am waiting for 10.58 before trying again.

Just curious though, how many times was 10.57 released? Just the 2 times?

I have the same win7 as Tom, Lightstar. Guess I will not worry about Skype. I can't see having Skype maybe work and other things messed up.
