How Can I close (shut down) Start8.

I now have Windows 10 and did not uninstall Start8 before the upgrade. I am missing my charms so I tried to uninstall Start8. I was informed that I should close Start8 before proceeding but with Windows 10. It doesn't appear to be an easy way to do this since the Start8 button is no longer available.

Can I just override the request and continue to uninstall it?
