Start10 and Virtual Desktop

We are working on piloting a Windows 10 rollout in or organization (750 users) and decided that we needed a start menu replacement.  After evaluating a few, Start10 is our favorite.  We bought 5 licenses to cover our initial pilot group and figured we'd buy more once we validated that everything worked.

We wanted to validate because we run Virtual Desktop with dynamic desktops.  This means that we have one base desktop that all software is installed onto, and every user's desktop is built as needed when they sign in, and then deleted when they sign out.  We installed Start10 to the base and activated it, and then gave it a few days to make sure that the constant creation and deletion of machines wasn't impacting our license (our hope was that we could license by user to keep ourselves legit, and the number of machines wouldn't matter).  Worked great for a week.

Today everybody in our pilot group got a message saying that our Start10 license could not be activated.  We did notice that Start10 is set (by default) to check for updates every 7 days, and it was exactly a week ago that we rolled out the new base to our pilot group.  We've turned that off (we wouldn't want it auto updating anyway).

Does Start10 recheck it's activation status on a regular basis, in which case we may need to re-evaluate our license options, or is our plan to activate it once on the base and buy licenses just to keep ourselves legal still valid as long as we have auto-updating turned off?

From the looks of your account, you have the wrong licensing and appear you did not worked with an agent (ordered directly from the store).

I will create a ticket and work with you on it.
