Try this site. It is premade.Rainlendar. Hope this helps.

I would just LOVE a Desktop X calendar that syncs with Outlook. That would be my dream come true. DX scripter around? I'm begging. hehehe!
I know it can be done with DX script, I just don't know how.

syncs with dx in what way and provides what type of visual presentation?

jark: ideally it would be cool if I could enter an appointment into Outlook directly from the DesktopX calendar, but I'm not sure it can be done that way.
But it would still be great if the DX calendar could show me my Outlook appointments. For example, show the date in a different color when there is an appointment set and possibly show the appoitment details when the date is clicked. A lot like Rainlendar does it, except with the appointment data taken from Outlook.

A lot of this should be entirely feasible with DXScript.

I'll see if I can throw together a quick sample for you.

That would be great Martin. If you script it, I could skin it.

well...when done, one of you has to upload it

OK. Well there's loads of potential in this. You can find a proof of concept at www.martinconroy.freeserve.co.uk/outlook.dxtheme

Is what is being asked for a calendar on the desktop, which when clicked shows the appointments on that date or do we want a full colour coded calendar etc?

Right - demo 1 is uploaded . It's very simple but it's here (https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=3&SkinID=2511)

Next versions will be:
a) Version using graphics not text
b) Outlook integration

Have a look and let me know how you would like to use this object with Outlook. i.e. click a date and see appointments for that day? Add colour coding to dates?

Martin: excellent start.
I downloaded both, but the OUtlook.dxtheme did not work on my machine. I don't know why. I just updated to the latest version of DX, so it's not a version problem. I don't know. Most of the objects aren't dislpayed, and I have blank black rectangles where I think maybe buttons or text should be?
As for the Calendar you uploaded here, it's an excellent start. Can't wait to get more updates. BTW, when I select a different month from the dropdown, the calendar doesn't change to show that month's calendar, is that normal, as you're not there yet?

Paxx - cheers.

Outlook sample requires the Date/Time picker control to exist. If it doesn't the demo kinda sucks! However, rest assured that it tought me stuff. This problem will be irrelevant, as the calendar will be used rather than the time picker.

Black boxes - IS a version issue. I reported problems with black boxes on text objects to Alberto. He has fixed it as I'm using a later build that doesn't have this problem. I'm doing the current version of the object on an old build of DX using Win98 so if it works there is should work anywhere!

Calendar does update here when you change month or year, so maybe this is a text issue also. Lets see if the graphical version suffers the same.

Should have that for you later today.

Hmm, seems this build of DX is limited to 30 object states which kinda screws calendars!

Also, Object.Textolor appears broken so I can't set the text colour to differentiate. I'll see what I can do to get round this short term.

Paxx, just another thought - What date system are you working with? Here in the UK I'm on dd/mm/yyyy. Haven't checked but I suspect that at the moment the code is date format specific.

Try changing to this briefly just to check. I'll return to fix it later if it appears that is the issue.

dd/mm/yyyy here too.

oh well - I needed to fix it anyway

Expect it's a text issue. I'll mail you later to discuss.

OK - got rid of all controls to eliminate problems. Re download to get a pure text version.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Personally I would like to banish plugins where Script can replace them. This means people can tweak them to their own needs more easily.

Glad you like the script. I'm working on Outlook integration now.

A graphical version will be available when the new DX build that supports it is on general release.

I always find holding down CTRL then right clicking will always give me the dialogue where I can enable the script.

Try restarting immediately and seeing if the script is on.

BTW, my Purple Glass theme has full browser functionality if you want to 'borrow' code from that.

Good job Martin!

So far, what I had done was a calendar PHP script on a web page that I placed on my desktop as an object. It works, except it can't be integrated into Outlook, I'm really looking forward to your Outlook integrated object! Very cool!

OK guys. FIRST demo of Outlook integration uploaded here (https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=3&SkinID=2516).

It should place a ring around dates with appointments.

Let me know how you get on.

Feedback anyone?

Cool - thx

I loaded it last night on my home computer (lousy Celeron 333, 128 Megs of Ram), and the calendar was slowing down my computer to no end. Even trying to drag the calendar somewhere else on the desktop was almost impossible, so much it wouldn't respond. Had to shut down Desktop X cause it was unbearable.
I don't know why that was though. I'll try today on my work computer (much better computer) and see if it's any better.
