I'm new to all this, but have been downloading skins and walls for awhile...I want to learn everything I can about how You people do it...I mean I'm starting from square one...I know that you people are the best there are...and I've been watching and downloading your GREAT works of art. I just can't see how a person can say that YOU and WC SUCK...WC IS the best site, and has the BEST people around I know all I have to do is ask, and you all will help all you can to help a PC DUMMY like me!!! I don't know you yet...But I have a feeling I will!!!

I agree that this IS the best skinning site. I even said so to a couple people who tried to tell me deskmod.com is. I love the people here. Nothing makes me mader than someone saying I suck or this site sucks. I am also starting from square one with skinning with the help of a few good people such as jafo helping me along. I had an idea...Why not get the FAMILY to tell us how they got started skinning, wallpapering,etc? As as a novice to all this, I think hearing from the "VETS" would be very helpful...It may just give us some insight into the troubles and how they fixed them...Some of the ups and downs...how they got over the "I WANT TO QUIT" stage, and so on... I think we all would look at this as a very positive project. How do you all feel about that? Enough said...Let's see what happens. Colt

Your site has a sharp, modern look. Navigation is pretty straightforward. And your loaded with "tons" of cool graphics(Wallpapers, Boot Screens). I found links to your site on almost all the other sites relating to XP customizations.
One problem, for myself anyway.... At the risk of sounding mean , I am going to coin a phrase : "Blazing Slow" . My god ! I'm on a broadband connection. I pull download speeds of 100-300kbs . When YOUR pages finally loaded, if at all, and i found a graphic i wanted to check out... zzzzzzzzz. A 1.10mb file size was transferring at 600 bytes per second. Ummm what IS a byte anyway? I'm gonna ask my grandpa if he ever heard of a byte coz im not sure we still use 'em. Is that a metric thing?
Seriously though, i popped up other sites while i was waiting for yours to load. I even downloaded an 8mb update for my PC. so my connection is fine. I hope i dont sound like a snob but i really wanted to give your site a whirl and I just dont expect to live that long. I can check back in a day or so, maybe you guys had your own probs. I know a worm was chewing up the internet over the weekend.

Hi everybody. Been quite a while.

Except for the argument of a 'limit on downloads', I don't think that the 'lady' in question has put forth any valid points to support her outburst. I think, we wallpaper creators (I couldn't think of a better term ) wouldn't mind criticism, if it is constructive. A plain 'it sucks' earns just contempt, as it rightly deserves.

I liked a point that Lecrayon made that WC has many abstracts, spheres, etc and should move on towards more concrete stuff. But thats what art is all about... Making sense of an otherwise insane world... Looking for answers within questions...

I would prefer the term artists rather than skinners, because we ARE artists in the true sense of the word. We labour over a muse, might be virtual hence existant only in our minds, but we do feel ecstacy on its completion and its acceptance by our peers.

And whatever the 'lady' might say, I am proud that I contributed a bit to the 'stuff that sucks'.

I've an alter that used to be like that, "brat" used to come out and show their butt to prove they didn't need or want something they really *did* need or want...

was a real pain too until some semblance of control was created and they began to understand there are much better ways, and more productive ones also, to deal with situations.
