Adobe Photoshop vs. Jasc Paint Shop Pro

+++ Adobe Photoshop vs. Jasc Paint Shop Pro +++

1. This topic has probably been mentioned before but which of these two software do you think is better for creating and editing images?

2. Also, can anyone recommend links to tutorials on how to use them?

*. I'd like to learn about how to draw images by pencil, scanning them into the computer, then editing the image/colouring the cells so it looks like computer graphics.

At the moment, the only image editor I know how to use is the Paint program that comes with Windows. And even with that I can't use for editing scanned images.

Thanks

Ian

Well, in that case... If I wanted to find the Tutorials section how can I find it again? That's the problem. Do I have to bookmark the page?

I am biased, but I much prefer PSP over Photoshop. More so now that PSP 8 is in beta........ it is awesome!
To say that no other program comes close to Photoshop is simply not true. And PSP is very affordable.
You can check out the PSP 8 beta here---> http://www.jasc.com/pbeta/psp/newsgroup.asp
Yes it's quirky at this time, but that's what betas are all about............ ironing the bugs out.

I am very new to computers, but I am having a great time. I am wondering if anyone could tell me how to download wallpaper. It seems after I download I can't get it to where it should be in Windowblinds. I appreciate any advise.

I haven't used PSP for a while - think it was version 6 last I used it - but if you are now using Windows Paint, it doesn't matter which one you go with, either will do much more than you can belive. Cost is always a factor, and for the things Photoshop can do compared to PSP, I couldn't justify the price difference unless you really need those extra features Photoshop offers. Fortunately for me I'm a faculty member at a university so I can get academic pricing, so Photoshop isn't so incredibly pricy, so I use it. If I was buying at retail, I'm sure I would be a PSP user.
