Microsoft update Borks WB

I'm still using WB 7.something

Here's the deal. After a massive dose of MS updates my PC was borked. It was very unstable with all sorts of weird behaviour. Locking up, not being able to even view task manager, CC Cleaner stopping in the middle of deleting, just crazy stuff. I've been messing around with it  for 2 days and I think that for now it's stabilized. I'm still using WB 7.something. At any rate putting the MS default UI in use seems to have resolved the issue. In fact the computer seems as fast as when I first got it which was quite awhile ago.

I'm thinking that something in the MS update was not compatible with this older version of WB. It's an older version because I can't afford to update my Stardock account stuff at this time. All was well until those updates.

I am also not using OD. Seem to recall some posts that it was not right after MS updates recently. Rainleander and DX widgets are running smooth as is XWidget widgets.

Have any of you had similiar issues?

I love WB but it's more important to me to have a PC that functions correctly.

The recent patch that caused a lot of problems was KB3097877.  Microsoft did redo it and supposedly fixed it, but you might try uninstalling it to see if it fixes your problems.  If not, you can re-install it.  That's about all I've got.

I had to redo the updates from earlier this week because I had done a system restore to make my PC useable. I did not do the KB3097877 update however. I read that MS fixed what was wrong with it but I don't trust it. Still using the default MS interface and the PC is working better than ever. My pants are free of crap.
