deviantART also has a few.

I doubt you'll ever see a kazaa/kazaa lite icon on here, because if you'd looked at the forum you'd see it's not a popular program around here.

You can probably also find winzip icons at either of those, if there isn't one here.

I'd like an Adobe GoLive in Aqua or Crystal style

Kazaa is a peer-to-peer program, but that doesn't mean everything that goes through the program is warez. I know, almost all of it is, but if you do motion picture design as a hobby to share among your little group of friends, they could use kazaa as a way to download the files.

What pirated software (and everything else) gets sent through kazaa doesn't make Kazaa a warez-user program anymore than tcp/ip makes people warez-users. It's the content, not the program... think napster... it's the same deal.

I agree, as i said before i used to get great tutorials from kazaa

Come on now. There is next to nothing sent to Kazaa that is legal.

It's a guy saying he buys Playboy for the articles.

I have always wondered which is the worst of the two, Usenet groups of PTP...

PTP does have a very valid function, my mothers company makes use of it to send fixture designs and gerber files back and forth between remote sites involved in the production of multilayer circuit boards and such. Some people use PTP to pass similar stuff for production shops around the nation working together on separate areas of a product.

But as paxx states, the larger number of people making use of it is rather like the Playboy for the stories example. If that was the case, they have something called Books and periodicals without the nude forms in them...

Sorry, just can't keep my mouth shut about this. I use Kazaa to download mp3 files of songs I've heard on the radio or TV. I also dl a few other songs by the same artist from the same album. Then I listen to them. I make a decision on whether or not I would like to buy the album. If I buy the album, the mp3's get deleted. If I don't buy the album, the mp3's get deleted. I do not feel that I have done anything wrong because I never keep the mp3's from P2P dl's. I don't feel it is appropriate to arbitrarily denegrate Kazaa or other P2P users just because the programs are used as a conduit for criminal behavior by a lot of other folks. Not everyone is a criminal.

We actually had a thread going about warez debate, to which I found out a lot of problems with the community "void". Warez, like everything else, has a pro side and a con side. What I find astounding is the black and white "oh no, kazaa helps with warez, warez is evil, so kazaa is evil."

People need to get past that, and actually weigh it out, do research on it, write a paper, counter the pros with the cons. Isn't that what they taught you back in Jr. High? How to think and analysis critically? Just cause media said warez is bad, or artists tell you it's bad, doesn't mean they actually check the facts before they tell you that. My opinion, you're welcome to flame me for it.

Hehehe! Too funny.

It's just a little bit illegal then.

Silly me, I always thought that something was either illegal or not.

Paxx: To whom were you referring?

paxx, yeah, I use to believe in black and white too, but life isn't black and white... I see all sorts of different colors

Well, I'm refering to downloading warez or music.

I may go steal a Ferrari for an hour, just to try it out. I may return the vehicle once I'm done. But I still think it would be illegal.

It may be, but I also see it as a chance for unknown artists to gain a bit of ground, you know what I mean?

I have to agree that kazaa is a nice place for beginning popgroups that aren't populair to put their stuff on (if they don't sell it in the shop) to become known.

Elfkura: some artists do distribute freely their songs to get better known. MP3.com is all about that.
