Short n sweet..
First off I'll admit haven't played this game, but am a potential buyer and a seven year SOASE veteran. (SP)
These are feeling I need to have in order to pull the BUY button.
By taking the 'human" element out of the "ships" all losses are less consequential.
I started reading the backstory and by the second sentence my eyes started to glaze over.
Now if every ship had a captain/crew that we could care for that would be special, but I think this game doesn't care for that KIND of immersion its all about how many ships and fighters can be on screen at once and that's it main selling point.
I admit SOASE didn't personalize its crews but at least you where given a face of the races and could imagine the ships full of sentient beings.
Maybe during development they could change this and have Captains or leaders react in real-time at ships losses and conquests a more meaningful feeling could be brought to the game.
Robots thrown at each other regardless of convoluted backstory is not as gripping....
