You don't HAVE to upload things, but if you upload something, it has to be for exampel wallpapers that YOU have made, else you aren't here for long, the admins are real killers here

To let you know my computer skills,my first computer was a WebTV box a couple of years ago.Then a friend of mine gave me her old box,a Windows 95 system,last year in January.I played with it until March,and figured if I really wanted to learn how to use a computer,I need to buy a new one.So I did.
I really like creating pics on my computer,because it helps me relax,and I can't paint or draw for %$*)!

So what did you end up with, my guess is some tripled dual processor multi - TB, 5000 Gigahertz with 60inch 3D real time LCD monitor...

No jake11.But I bought a system from the TV set.
1.7 Mhz,with 256 memery,CD-RW drive,DVD drive,40 gig harddrive,15" LCD monitor,microtek scanner,lexmark printer,EZmega cam,and 120 software programs."PLUS",they threw in a DVD player for my entertainment center.
I bought it this way,because I didn't know very much about computers then.
So I figured I'd buy it this way,because everything came with it.

If you could answer a question for me,it would be a lot of help.I just tried uploading a pic of mine,and I got a pop-up saying "Not the right file format!"
My pic is JPG,do I need to change it to Bitmap?

Yes, change your pic to bitmap save and compress it. Use the .jpg full size as your thumbnail, WC will size it for you.

Then upload using the proper browse buttons.


It sounds like you got a lot to keep you busy for quite a while.

I can only yet dream of ever having half of all those things to use.

Well I did that and still got the same message.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong,but I'll try it again later.

Back to my computer,I can get almost twice as much now for the same price.
A better
everything.Camera,Computer,scanner,printer,monitor,for less money than I payed a year ago.

mortto56, welcome to WC.

Now, I think that you already are on the wallpapers upload page.

Now there are a no. of fields to be filled in.

Fill in the 'Bitmap name', 'Author comments' etc.

Now, for the Preview field, you can upload only files in the .JPG or .GIF formats.

The Bitmap Zip field takes accepts only .ZIP files. So, its better if you winzip your wallpapers and upload the zipped file.

Any Zip program should suffice.

I just mentioned winzip because it is the most common one.

You have to upload the zipped file, i.e. the file in the .ZIP format.

Well I tried it two more times,and I keep getting the message,"Not in the right file format!"
But when I check it,my extentions are,JPG for the first box,and ZIP for the second box.
Could it be something in my brouser?

I would really like to upload some of my work to share with everyone.

Make sure your not saving the jpeg from photoshop with the preview option selected under preferences. Sometimes a website which requires a .jpg won't accept those. I'm not saying WC is like that but maybe a possiblity. Disregard if you aren't even using PS.....

mortto56....make sure you do not use symbols, etc in your naming of the files.
Just restrict them to letters and numbers, ie. no...! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) etc....that'll help...
