Pocket PCs

I'm considering purchasing a PocketPC to replace my Visor Deluxe. Before I do, I have a few questions that I think y'all might be able to help me with.

1st: Can a Pocket Pc switch positions of the start and menu bars? It just seems delightfully counterintuitive to put the start menu at the *top* and the menu bar at the *bottom*.

2nd: Can color Pocket Pcs use different colors for different kinds of appointments? For example, say I have categories like "Work appointments" "School appointments" "Church appointments" and what have you. Can I make it so that when I see the appointments in calendar mode, the different categories are different colors (work=red, school=green, church=blue)?

3rd: The broadly general question you knew was coming: Which model should I buy? (I'd like to avoid spending more than $300 on the unit itself, and I want it to have CompactFlash/Secure Digital/Multimedia Card capabilities of some sort. And it would be really cool if I could get one that would link up to my campus's wireless network, either through a card or through the unit itself, although I'm not sure what kind of network the campus uses yet). Any suggestions? I've considered the Dell Axim, but they seem to be having distribution problems at the moment, and I'd really like to see one in person before I buy one... I hear it is comparatively large.

Thanks for your time!

No... however you will find other programs to use that do the job better... like Dashboard.

Stike 2... I am not aware of the default Pocket Outlook being able to this. 3rd party apps.. someone else may know of one.

A Pocket PC under $300 ... yikes I think the Axim is one... iPAQ h1910 (SD slot)is the other that I am aware of... both are $299 US. I would take the iPaq over the Axim anyday.

as for #3, there are addons for WiFi networking available.

The Axim is the best value for you money at this point.

The iPAQ 1910 has an SD slot but it's not SDIO, so you are dead in the water as far as expansion goes.

The Axim has an SD(not IO) and CF slots for all of your wireless and bluetooth needs.

#2 - limited response: running Dashboard, i subvert the use of the "time is busy/tentative" input to force appointments into two different colors ( normal text color versus low priority text color).
