Is it worth me getting Object Desktop??

I've been a Windowblinds customer for a really long time, but just didn't see any appeal of OD So I never purchased it, but now I've been looking at the themes, and I'm thinking about getting it, but am not sure! Desktop X seems like a real pain Well let me know what your opinion is

Desktop X isn't the only proggy in Object Desktop. Take a look at the contents:- https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/ There is a whole load of possibilities for customizing Windows. Consider what you get for purchasing Windowblinds, then add on a whole lot more, plus access to beta versions and you have a bargain.

Object Desktop buys you a proggy called Component Manager. With that you can download all the other programs at the touch of a button, and keep up to date with all the latest versions. I can't imagine having Windows without it. Go for it!

I am a recent upgrader from WB3 to ODN. I have zero regrets.

Look at things like IconPackager, Window FX. These are simple to use programs, but things that once you try you want want to do with out. Now add up the price of all these programs. All together it's close to $60. BUT, you get all of them and more with an upgrade to ODN for $35

It's a definate bargin, and you will wonder why you ever used windows without them.

Windowblinds, Iconpackager, BandVWM, Window FX, Object Edit, Spring Folders.

That's all the programs from OD that I use regularly (Well, Iconpackager is largely a use-and-forget program,) and I couldn't imagine running windows without any of them any longer.

Lots of people like DesktopX, and lots of people like ObjectBar. While I think they're great programs, I don't personally care to use either of them. Still - I got a /wonderful/ value for my money, I think!

DesktopX is most definitely not a pain! You just load it up, choose from a myriad of wonderful themes, and enjoy! I can't imagine using the boring Windows desktop anymore. Combine all this with IconPackager and WindowBlinds etc, and you have something special. Go ahead, treat yourself, get the whole nine yards, you only live once etc. etc......

This wasn't a good question to begin with on here. Almost everybody on here has bought OD and love it, so ofcourse they are going to tell you to buy it also. I, on the otherhand had an option - to buy Object Desktop or put food on the table for me and my family. Guess what happened? $60US seems like peanuts, but in reality, that's almost $100 where I live because of the currency. That $100 went to something way more useful like food or the gas bill. I don't want people to hate me on here or start fights, that's the last thing I want, but some people can't afford to dish out $60US. So I wouldn't tell people to rush out and buy OD not knowing if they can afford it or not. A lot of people on here say it's only $60 or it's only $20 for windowblinds, but to some people that money may be alot. Peace

understood... but I bought it while working a minimum wage job, and had bills to pay... but definatly I wouldn't buy anything before putting food on the table, if you don't have the money to feed your family sell you computer if you have to... don't let anybody tell you otherwise... but if you have EXTRA money...

deus_heart did mention that he was interested in buying it. If he couln't afford it, he probably wouldn't have asked. Correct?
(We should all probably cut down on the calories anyway, huh?)

You're right there, brdfryr123...
I'm very interested in buying a GMC Envoy this spring, but I can't afford it - but I'll probably guy one anyway.
My wife and looked at a house a little over a year ago. We couldn't afford it - but we bought it anyway.

Yes, and if we all waited to have children until we could afford it, would there be anybody left?

Suburban Hi-Lo OverDrive Auto 4x4 with a 350 cid
Black with Gray interior

Thats my everyday drive.

Envoy was really cramped behind the wheel, heck in the passenger seat too. If you get hammered they will have to peal you out of it.

Even though I live in England, I have always been a fan of American cars. I have owned a '73 Cadillac Eldorado (with the 500ci V8 and front wheel drive!) a '74 Mustang Mach1 (one lady owner, 8000 miles on the clock) a '86 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am (in pure white with black interior), and various other miscellaneous vehicles. My wife is currently hankering after one of those Chevy trucks, (Typhoon or something?) personally, I think she has more chance of making love to the Pope!

I'm not too keen on vehicles with large engines, especially with the price of gas now. As long as it gets me from point A to point B and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, I'm happy. I'm driving a '92 Corsica now and my wife drives a '91 Tempest with 250,000 km on it, so anything will be an improvement. I wanted a GMC Jimmy but I don't think they make them any more. Oh well, I like my GM and I am not towing or hauling anything, just a wife, dog and kids (in the near future) or I don't need anything too powerful.

How can you complain about the cost of fuel? Over here it's nearly £4 per gallon ($6). I suspect you wouldn't be happy about having a large engine with those prices.

dang $6.00 a gal, I'd walk, ride my 18 speed or ride a bike, rice burning wrist rocket
