Yes, a true gentleman and a great cricketer... a cricket commentator without equal, given his charisma, presentation and vast knowledge of the game.

The world of cricket is a sadder place for his passing, RIP, Richie Benaud.

Couldn't have put it better.

A true legend.

Richie was in a class of his own...........I grew up listening to him, commentating on the Test Matches, on those warm summer English afternoons and loved his style. Rest in peace Richie.

Perhaps old age got to him and it was his time to move on.  In any event, the great man had a good innings and his contributions to cricket as a player and commrentator will always be remembers as something quite special.

Same here, Richie was a great commentator who knew how to draw his audience into the game at hand... his style and ability to convey preceedings helped to bring the game to you, like you were almost there.  No other commentator, except for perhaps Bill Laury and Tony Greig, had that ability.
