Q: When I use Custom colours on this theme the OB right click menu becomes black. How can I make it the same as the custom colours?

ObjectBar does not support custom coloring like WindowBlinds does

Ok fair enough... any idea why the right click menu of OB changed from the TOON XP maroon too Black? I can close OB and restart OB... it goes thru importing Windowblinds theme and ends up black. Just so its clear if I reload the default colour scheme of TOON XP OB imports the correct colour.

I looked at the .bmp's for the popup menu and they are grey... so it gets instruction for the colour ( whether it be Maroon or black from somewhere ) any idea what could be changed to tweak it to a colour of my choice? any OB themers that could assist me with this?

Hey - got Desktop X ok and the walls, but nada on WindowBlinds and Object Bar (I've been using Paul's orion icons for a while now, so nothing new there, just great art). Any one else experiencing this?

Figured it out - didn't have the updated winstyles (don't try this theme without it).

kja: there will be supposedly two premium suites included with the subscription. One has been released. The second one is yet to come. All the other premium suites are sold seperatly, like batteries.

I was wondering the same as most, I'm not currently a subscriber but am very seriosuly considering becoming one soon, I do spend a helluva lot of time around here. So I guess my question is would the Toon-XP theme be downloadable at no extra charge or would I still have to pay even if I am a subscriber? This will more than likely make my decision for me, if it's included I will subscribe, if it will cost extra well then I guess I just don't see the point of being a subscriber, might as well just purchase the suites that tickle my fancy & save my subscription fee. Thanks!

Phydeaux_3: there is an $8.95 charge for the suite...but it is a suite. There is a lot of stuff in there for a small price. It's very nice looking on my desktop and the icons are made by, probably, the best icon maker out there. It's worth it.

Phydeaux: see my post just above yours. Toon XP is not one of the two included premium suites. The first included suite is called XP Augustus and the second one is yet to be released.

Yeah, sorry paxx, I replied before I saw that there was a page 2. Is there anywhere that I can preview XP Augustus? I've looked around a little (searched) & could not find any comments/reviews or anything. I'm still cornfused, Toon-XP IS a "premium suite" is it not? Was it not created by the same company/team/skinner(s) as the other premium suites? Seems to me like a bit of a cash-grab, not including it as one of the freebies. I think I'll skip on the subscription, it would be a better idea (imho) to let the subscriber choose their 2 free premium suites, instead of Wincustomize deciding for us which 2 suites a subscriber is entitled to. I'm not big on "no choice" type bonus stuff. Thanks again.

Enh - bonus stuff is... well, it's just that. It's a bonus... lagnaippe.

Where do these people come from?

TOON-XP is a fantastic desktop suite. One very minor problem. I'm unable to set the clock on the top of the screen. When the clock in my taskbar says 4:46 PM (EST) the clock up at the top of the screen says 2:55 and no amount of right clicking seems to get me to any configuration screen that will let me reset it.

HuronJoe: Known problem...the .dll plugin is being fixed as we speak. This is not the fault of the suite author. I've been able to fix it myself by making a new pair of clock hands using the AnalogClock.dll (my version is an older one, I guess)

Glad to see that the clock issue is being addressed. That's the only issue that I have with this suite. Other than that, I love it! Well worth the money.

I bought a subscription and I bought TOON XP... both were worth every penny... awesome work on the suite. and the subscription has been worth the extras there as well. On a side note have you ever heard of paying the bills. All that free bandwidth your sucking up comes from somewhere... guess you can thank all the subscribers and stardock for that.

Phydeaux_3....some skinners have been in this 'game' long enough to become sufficiently competent to actually make a 'living' out of website/skin/theme design, creating specific works for Commercial companies, etc.
They have made/are making specific 'special' suites expressly for Wincustomize.com subscribers as an added incentive/bonus to subscribe.... [although inherent benefits should be more than sufficient].

Their personal, professional decision to request a fee for a specific suite 'should' be, and is their right.

Any and every skinner will be quick to tell you that a full 'suite' of matching skins takes quite an extensive amount of time to create, and warrants recompense by any stretch of the imagination.

These same skinners freely create works for public DL as well. It's not a 'cash-grab', but a genuine 'worthiness'...

AAAAHHHHHHRRRGGGG! Downloaded, installed, and for some reason the thememgr. deleted all my ORION icon sets. Only the Old Crab has such problems. Hope it don't happen again!

Werewolf, Thank you for the update to my question. I assume that if it can be fixed for the rest of us, Vagrant Frogboy? or the authors will post an update.

Jafo I totally agree with your comments:

"These same skinners freely create works for public DL as well. It's not a 'cash-grab', but a genuine 'worthiness'
Their personal, professional decision to request a fee for a specific suite 'should' be, and is their right"

Very well put.

HuronJoe, yes, as soon as we feel that it is fixed, then there will be a fix for it. What, you find it hard to read the clock when it is upside down and backward? The funny thing is, once you figure out how it is moving, you can actually tell time by it It will hopefully be fixed soon (I keep complaining about it, too)

The idea of letting people choose which 2 suites they'd like with their subscription is a good one. But the problem is that since suites are released every so often, it would make it hard to choose since you're always wondering "I like those two suites, but what if they release a better one next month?" and in the end I'm sure there would be unhappy people that would say "I chose those two skins because they were they were the only ones then, but I didn't know there would be even better ones coming later!".
Besides, it would probably make it hard to manage.

But, in theory, the idea is fair, since nobody has the same tastes.

I'm not trying to be an @ss (it just comes naturally?) I agree that the skinners oughtta get paid. I also agree that the Toon-XP suite looks absolutely incredible & is more than likely worth every penny, as is the subscription fee. The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that somebody else decides for me what two freebies I'd end up with. I don't wanna stir up mud. I am indeed very grateful for all of the free stuff I've used & abused over the past few years. I just sorta thought that if the sub is good for a whole year & you get 2 freebies that it would be nice if sub'rs could choose (at their leisure & discretion) which two. So I take it then that there is nowhere that I can preview this XP-Augustus suite? Thanks paxx.
The subscription is $19.95 for *two years*
There is nowhere that there was ever a claim that we would allow people to choose their "freebies" or that we would be doing anything differently than we are right now. The "two premium suites in a year" means within the first 365 days. There will be another one, and it will be free to subscribers. That's all we claim, and that is what we intend to do.

Toon-XP costs less than $9.00. That is less than 3 meals at fast food, less than 7 cups of Tim Horton's coffee....you get the point.....It's not much money for the amount of work these accomplished skinners have put into it. If you love it, buy it. If you don't find it worth $9, then don't buy it.

That's my 2 opinionated cents. Hi!
