I think there need to be more to finding the minerals. I find it far too easy to find, just a click and there they are.
Most mining company have to drill to survey the site and assess amount of ore in the rock.
You may think about changing that buy having the company land on mars and sending out survey vehicle to scout for minerals. I think all you need is to have a over all view of were possible consecration of minerals and water are before landing on mars.
