Make sure your DirectX is up to date first. And let me know after that. Plus what type of Video card do you have and MB of Video Dram?

it may also have to do with how much you are pushing the 3d acceleration on your video card. What is the card, and how do you have it set? What mouse/drivers do you use, and how do you have it set? Usually playing with the settings on your video card and mouse will fix that (but it may effect your day to day use, so there is always a trade off).

KG, I think you asked almost every possible point on that one

Adding on to what KG said. From what I remember, on Win9x there was a Graphics Acceleration option that by default was set to full. On older (especially integrated) video cards their was a conflict between the Graphics Accelaration and the mouse painting via DirectX. Decreasing the Graphics Accelaration could help.

You might be feeding your mouse the wrong type of cheese. Try a different brand.

What kind would you prefer?

From experience rat trap cheese is not preferred. I have heard that cream cheese makes the mouse move smoother but that may only be when bagels are involved.

i have a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 ULTRA...old one...but its good.
maybe my acceleration settings are not maximum

i checkedout the acc settings (sliderbar -------|- )
it was ONE step behind the FULL ACCELERATION settings.
but all cursor acc is enabled...

I have also experienced the same sort of problem. I found out that in my case I had set the cursor to hide while typing. I disabled that feature of the mouse properties and it no longer flickered when I played full screen games. May not be the same solution for you

I have the same Video card.. How about that.. I need a upgrade though.. I can't play half of the new games because of it.. Like No one lives forever 2 and I think it was unreal Tour 2003. But I don't have a prob with the mouse, I just have a issue with the screen flickering every so often. But I got the Ram to cover most of the problems . 768mb Yum

Weaksid, what is your acceleration set at? Is it one notch below max like his? Or do you have it configured differently?

It's not the settings.. My video card only has 32mb of Video Dram. The programs tell me that I need to have more. Basically the programs told me that my video card is crap, get a new one.

I'm going to get a 128mb one than I won't have any problems.

when i set my acceleration settings to FULL (---------| ), the special effects in windows xp like the TRANSLUCENT rectangle when selecting files in explorer, draws very, very, very * 10 TIMES SLOWLY!
but when i dont set the acc settings to full, the drawing is bearable...
