I just did a quick memory dump, it's hard to believe I've been hanging around since Dec 26, 1948.

Some other dates, joined the Air Force in Aug of 1968, retired in Aug of 1988, for some odd reason I felt the urge to work for the DoD for another ten years.  I have been retired from the AF for 26 years and on Nov of 2013 I started receiving Social Security.

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this but I'm getting old.

The place's I've seen and the stuff I've done I never had given any thought that I would see today.

Just think if I would have made one or two different turns in my life..........oh well.......I wonder if it's too late to travel down a different road.

Atleast I can still dream.   :sun:

Wow John, you have a life that almost matches mine! Joined the Air Force under delayed enlistment in July 1968, went active 11 days after I turned 18 on October 1, 1968 and retired from the Air Force August 1, 1990. Didn't do DOD or Federal employment after that, but rather state government here in Indiana for 15 years and had to retire due to the medical disability I incurred while in the military in January of 2005. Drawing Social Security also now. I wouldn't worry about travelling down a different road, as it's already been paved for us. Only dream I have left is to move somewhere warm!

What else can you add Tom?  I can also include working in a Bank before going into the AF, being a short order cook at a bowling alley while I was stationed at Shepard AFB, part owner of a sports card/nostaliga/collectibles shop and running the circulation department of a local newspaper.  :sun:

The reason people get old is they keep on having birthdays....

....but I'm told it's unwise to stop having them....;)

Happy birthday [again]....;)

Well, you got me on some of those John, although I was also stationed at Sheppard AFB for job training as a fighter aircraft Crew Chief, did that for 8 years until I hurt my back, then I had a desk job as a Training Technician for the next 14 years. I was an Assistant Manager for Gordon's Jewelers right after I got out of the Air Force before they went out of business for about 7 months though. After that I worked as a Computer Repair Tech for a local business, got my college degree in Computer Science and then got hired by that same State college as a Computer/Network Tech. I then became the Director of Technology for a brand new State Prison that was built nearby. Did that until I was told I could no longer work. Definitely not easy giving up a high paying job.  :S

Well three days into my 66th year and unfortunately I'm not seeing much difference from what I saw, felt and experienced during my my 65th year.  Seems I'm just a tired old fart that needs to nap alot.  Oh well, maybe something will come along that will wake me up from my nap and surprise the crap out of me.

Hello Stardock.......anyone listening?

Nah, they're all on Holidays

Some people have all the luck, don't they?  I never get a holiday from being on holiday... ever.

Well actually it's retirement.... but I never get a flippin' holiday from it. :-"
