XP Taskbar Size in skins

Just been playing with this over the past couple of days, and I've found a skin that I really want to continue using, but I have one problem with it. Whenever my system is booted, the taskbar resizes back to it's single-height state. I run too many programs at once for that size to be effective, so I was looking for a code or something so it wouldn't resize on reboot.

Does anyone know what line of code to add to the skin and what section to put it in so it stays double height on restart?

Are you using the trial version of windowblinds. If so, I think it reverts back to single size.

No, it's not the trial... It's only on some skins that this happens... Others stay at double height... Unfortuneatly, the one I want reverts to single height...

Link or message number please? It's no longer on the list, and I don't see a 'next page' for messages...

Here's the important part:

The problem is a Microsoft bug which was even present in the beta of XP. You can check this by installing XP (without installing WB) and setting the theme to Luna. Then resize the taskbar to double height. Now change to classic and the bar will drop to single height again. There are workarounds which involve putting another toolbar on the bottom level. So if you stick the quicklaunch bar at the bottom it should stay at double height. I personally use an address bar underneath and have not had it resize since. No-one (so far) has managed to programatically resize the taskbar (and a fair few people more knowledgable than myself) have tried. I don't think it's fixable by Stardock. I know for a fact that they have looked into it and so far have not come up with a resolution."

If that is true, then why do some work and others not?

This is not the case I'm interested in...

The case I'm trying to fix is upon Windows Boot. Not Skin Change.

Set to Luna. Set to Double Height. Reboot. Skin is Double Height.
Set to Custom 1 and Double. Reboot. Skin is Double Height.
Set to Custom 2 and Double. Reboot. Skin is Single. Code difference to correct is?

The problem is not so much in the rebooting as it is switching between Luna and Classic. Windowblinds uses Classic and skins over top. I could try to reproduce what you are seeing if you let me know which WB skin you are using.

I know it seems as if the Windows boot is the culprit, but when you look into the reasons behind it, it is because switching between Luna & Classic. One decent work around I use is the "large" quicklaunch icons.

Skin I want to use: ChaNinja
Resets to single height upon refresh.

Another skin (in my example above) is: OSXP NG
It remains at double height.

Try it. Load both into WB... Use Luna or anything. Doubleheight and switch to ChaNinja. You're back single. Double ChaNinja and switch to OSXP NG... You're still double.

Now why it works some ways and not others, I don't know...

Well rkumono, you are sort of right!

Here's the thing it does work as you say "some" of the time, but not always. Which makes this all the more a mystery. I do know that switching between Classic and Luna always reduces the height to one. But "sometimes" between WB skins it stays at two or higher. Hmmm. There could be a number of reasons for this, I will look into it in more depth over the next week and let you know what I find out. This could be very interesting!
