Recent build seems.... hard.

I tried out a campaign game today.

 

well. Lets just say the game ended with everyone's stock costing 1.00, and thus, with all the insurmountable debt... the question became who could sell enough crap to reach 10k to buy out each other the fastest.  I did not win this race.

 

I feel like... there should be some mechanic of 'your debt is too dam high! you cant buy stocks right now!'

 

Are the AI getting free funds somehow too? Cause it kinda feels like they are... when one of them has zero food production facilities, the price of food being over 9000, and they somehow... expand their colony? and buy me out? (no. it was not a robotic colony)

 

It kinda feels like there is not enough claims to get enough life support and power, let alone make money. Especially if you go to 'challenging' wtf? I start with 2 claims?  I used to play on challenging and higher difficulties, now it kinda seems... impossible.

sorry, we've been modifiying the campaign a lot, and it might be too hard early on where certain buildings are locked away. The skirmish game should be the same, however.

Current patch also seems not quite 100%. I managed to win the first campaign mission, and i got zero points for it, nor did i get the perk i was promised, nor did my income go up.... and the area on mars is not claimed as mine.

Things were going fairly well in the new build. One first match. Lost second match. Get this weird error when trying to press the start mission button to start the third.

It also seems less ridiculously hard, thanks to the 50% production buff. thanks.  

 

It is also super interesting now, because one has to be ultra careful they are processing raw materials into goods at efficiencies which are profitable.  A single steel mill, or glass factory, or chemical plant might generate net losses if one is not careful! Very cool.

Tried starting a new campaign.

 

This time, however, after winning the first mission... the perks were all messed up! I picked the spot which should have given me 20 dollars, and an extra free claim. I ended up getting 17 dollars, and a food shipment. 

 

I also had access to the pleasure dome, and patent lab, which i did not buy engineers for. (although, ending the previous mission ended with me buying out a person with those engineers? so did i somehow get their engineers?)

started a new campain.

 

This time i did indeed get the perk i was promised.

 

None of the provinces, however, are marked as mine.

 

and my set of engineers is messed up. I now have the set of engineers the other person in the region had.

I think I found the bug last night and we updated the Steam version. Can you... try again? Thanks for your persistence! Would love to get your thoughts on the campaign once it is working better.

Things now seem to be working properly!

 

Not a problem.  It is really kinda fun. It certainly snowballs.  Played 4 missions so far, and getting all those engineers really makes a difference.  I am a tad worried about like.... if you didnt manage to win every mission? then you just might end up to far behind.  That omega launch corp is super tricky if they start launching stuff!

 

I see now that we have to buy out the stocks of dead players.  This is (probably) a really good improvement, but I have not played with it enough to know if it is optimal.

I won the campaign!

so. that was fun.

 

Feedback on the campaign?  

It felt like a reverse difficulty curve. the first missions were by far the hardest. the last missions were... incredibly fast paced, but it was easy. I was constantly rolling in the monies.  The last mission, was a rare resource mission, (but i had slant drilling, because awesome), and I basically upgraded from lv 1 to lv 5 as fast as i could click... and after, was hitting the new buy claim button on the black market the second it appeared.  At somepoint. after buying all my own stock. it was like. hmm. i guess i should go ahead and win now.

 

Oh. and the AI often bids on the the recycle buildings patent... And I have never seen the AI use it.
