Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Bryce, Gimp, Lightwave...
I'm sure there are others I can't think of right now.

Photoshop seems favourite but its not so much the program as the artist's abilities.

Gimp is free and Paint Shop Pro is cheap.$70-$90.

start small get more diffucult, photoshop is prolly the hardest of basic graphic editors and 3d tools, prolly lightwave but thats really expensive. I suggest the gimp and a demo of bryce to get started

Thank you so much guys...yeah, I guess I'll give it a try, but you won't see anything from me for a while...

I was trying to poke around Photoshop, but it looks Greek to me...I think I'm due for a few study manuals...In the mean time, I'll get the "trial" version of the other software mensioned...I'll see how that works out for me..h
