Darkseraphim.com

I was reading the "Words of Wisdom" thread earlier and I learned that Darkseraphim.com, one of the members of this community is ill. Very ill.

I don't know AngEla that well, only through her posts actually. But I do feel a connection to her and I want to wish her well. AngEla, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

You can still be beautiful without hair. Just look at me. On second thought... Look at whats-her-name from Star Trek. Thats better!

I laughed at many of the Words of Wisdom. But I can tell you this: Life is about caring for the people that we meet. Leave a place better than it was when you entered it and that is progress.

Thank you for hanging out on WinCustomize and I look forward to seeing you around.

What a kind and warm, personal message and I thank you, Larry. What touching and warm thoughts. Don’t even give it a second thought, I've beaten worse and the worst has yet to beat me. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments, "Life is about caring for the people that we meet. Leave a place better than it was when you entered it and that is progress." That's lovely.

And thank you Doreen and craeonics for your posts too…(((HUG)))

I can't believe Christmas is already around the corner...this month zoomed by way too fast for me!

Happy holidays...and don't be blue!

A tear of love has slide on my face and an anger has blur my mind as soon as I read this thread.

Sally, a friend of mine, has a belief that people can collectively send healing powers to those in need. She calls it "Sending Light". I will send my Light towards you AngEla. I hope all others reading this thread will do the same.

Wishing you peace filled holidays.

Thank you guys...*wee tear* Nikos (adni18)...what can I say? You're such a precious person and thank you for your *always* kind and caring thoughts! You're an angel if ever there was one! Right back atchya!

Motion, your friend Sally is right, I believe the same thing...sending "white or pink light" is one of my favorite things to do to comfort and heal others...and the power to believe is definitely the key, as Nikos mentioned.

I wish you peace filled Holidays too, each and every one of you.

Oh, and a happy New year!

Now, carry on and stop making me cry (happy tears of course)! It's a blustery day today and still no snow...I wonder if my power will hold out? Oh boy!

Jafo, despite what you might assume about me I actually hold you in high regards, so thank you for that. I'm touched.

GreatSilverWyrm (Andrew), thank you, you're a precious one and I hope you decide to stay on here and try your hand at skinning or wallpaper or something and have some fun...that's what it's all about in the end.

And heads up, I ain't dyin'! Got that? I'll be livin' lavida loca in no time!

Oh, and in the spirit of the season, I shall post my Christmas poem I'd written last December...

Titled, Wishing miracles

For those who are lost and lonely
In their darkness and despair
For those who are cold and hungry
And praying for someone to just share…

For those who are so exhausted
They feel at the end of their rope
For those who are weary and teary eyed
And have almost given up hope…

For those who have worked so very hard
And still their future seems so bleak
For those who struggle with handicaps
And are treated as though they’re weak…

For those who are small and suffering
From ignorance and or abuse
For those who are fearful for their life
Or feel their life’s no use…

For those who live in inhumane squalor
Deprived of each basic need
For those who barely make ends meet
And yet valiantly proceed…

For those who are stripped of their dignity
And feel less than what they should
For those of you who sacrifice
Just to do what’s right and good…

For all that endure such pains in life
When the chips have been so down,
For those of you who wear a smile
When you could so easily wear a frown…

For those wounded so deeply
Because they miss someone they lost
For those who forlornly wonder
If just living is too great a cost…

For those who might contemplate
The taking of their own life
For those who hurt so much inside
They just can’t take the strife…

For all those people I’d like to say
I can’t feel your hurt; it’s true,
And yet, though you may not believe it
I’m wishing miracles for you…

Bless you all at Wincustomize and everywhere in the world!

Nikos, this is a recent pic (taken yesterday)...I look awful...don't even comment. http://www.darkseraphim.com/fornikos.jpg but I made it in wallpaper size if you wanna stare at my ugly mug on your desktop and then run away in trauma. I've been living in my nightgown apparently...

AngEla, My thoughts and prayers are with you in this trying time. Here's a little poem I'll will share with you.

There is healing for you.
There is healing for me.
The lame shall walk.
The blind shall see.
Trust in Jesus.

I hope I am not too late in case this can help you DS! I learned it from a pediatric intensive care nurse/ pediatric oncology. I have not had a chance to substantiate it but I saved it in my memory banks in case it is something I might need myself one day.

I understand your hair is important to you; I knew there was more significance to your reaction than was immediately apparent.

The first thing is that many medications are refined now and hopefully some of the worst side effects have been dealt with.

This is another tip.... there is this theory that before you take chemo, if you put an ice pack to your scalp for awhile before and all during and for awhile after it can help you to save your hair. The theory is that it constricts the blood vessels supplying your scalp thereby reducing blood-flow in that direction. The theory is that the chemotherapy molecules are rather large and that factor plus the fact that the blood flow to the hair roots is reduced in general might help protect them form too much exposure. I never had a chance to investigate this. Maybe you can talk to the nurses about it.

I was trying to get this to you sooner, I have more to say....!!!

Angela: My wife had cancer 2 years ago. She beat it. she's a strong woman. I believe you are too. Don't underestimate the power of the mind, as a qualified hypnotist, I know what I am talking about. I have seen some amazing results achieved through hypnosis and I urge you to look into it.
I will be thinking of you...............Bryan.

Now... I had to dig to find your other comment. These may sound like scoldings but they are not...

1) Now is the time for you to be selfish in the extreme. That means that you have to give up worrying about how other people might react. You need to do what you can to reduce stress and make yourself strong.

2) Strong does not mean keeping things in. Doing that just saps your energy. It is building a pressure cooker of your feelings and when the next stressor comes along it is like taking the lid off the pressure-cooker without releasing the tension. All of your inner thoughts and emotions come flying out in whatever direction. Then you have to waste energy and time to gather yourself together and you worry yourself needlessly with anxiety caused by worrying what you have done with your reaction. As far as I am concerned it is always stronger (and harder) to be open with people.

3) I learned this one in my Medical Ethics class and I think you can generalize it here. Disclosure is always best. Not doing so does several things. It isolates you, for one thing. Just look at the people here who are ready to support you. If you had never said anything I could never have given you the hair tip (in case it helps). Not disclosing also cuts people off and causes repercussions for them. See, it was obvious something happened with the hair. Not knowing why, other people end up distanced and unsure. Giving them a reference point helps them to understand (and you to feel less stressed over your reactions). Not disclosing stuff also takes away from people their ability to come to grips with a situation and to deal with it. It robs you and your friends of communication.

4) Remember the healing power of faith. Remember also the power of laughter... I think you must have heard of Dr. Norman Cousins. If I remember right, he is the one who treated his brush with cancer by going to the video store and checking out the humor tapes. Laughter does help.

Oh, and another thing... about the chocolate forest. There is nothing there that can cause harm. In case you bump into a sharp edge, just magic it away. And any hair that got trimmed there is magicked automatically... it is enhanced with protective charms for strength, longevity and mirth!!! That fuzzy logic has special healing powers!
