Is there a Windows Media Player skinning guide

I'd love to skin WMP sometime, but I don't have any idea how! I looked at the Microsoft website, but it doesn't look like it has enough information about the definition file to create a decently functioning skin. (I may be wrong; I didn't read it carefully yet). Has anyone written one (If not, would the Skins Factory be so kind as to do so? Please? Please? ) Thanks!

Sometimes I get WMP confused with Winanm.

If you mean WMP as in Window Media Player the best place is M$ website. The other way to do it is also to go into a simple skin they provide for downloading and look at the code. You should know XML and Microsofts J script (Microsoft's version of Javascript)

It says it is easy, but I have not looked into it in depth myself. Also try deviantart.com and tekedermy (spell?) websites. Google seach can help as well as dogpile.

Hope that helps.

There is a WMP developer SDK. When they first started 7 they had a lot of video you could download and watch from the developers themselves, I dunno if they offer it now. I dunno how the SDK will change with 9.0, either.

here's a link to the MSDN page: ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwmt/html/WMPlayer_9_SDK_Intro.asp )

I think you will find that there is no set way to make a skin for it. It is about as open-ended a format as you will find in skinning; and if you want somethign in particular, you pretty much have to craft it yourself. The resident WMP pro is SkinsFactory. Maybe he/they can chime in.
