Is there an expert DestopX user/creator willing to help me?

Hi, i'm new here and i've never used this program or anything before but i was wondering if someone could make a theme that looked like this:

http://www.etplanet.net/windows/longhorn/screenshots/desk01.jpg

Or at least show me where I could get it, i've searched everywhere for this with no luck. Main feature that I want is the Notes area in the start menu (with a save button under it), the nice clock in the corner and maybe a calendar in english as well.

Much appreciated and TIA.

Hum... Most of that can be done with Desktop X or Litestep.
But the Notes thing, I don't know. Can't do that with Desktop X, as far as I know. I know Litestep has some "Notes" modules, so I think it could be done. But the problem is that Litestep is not something esy to use and configure. How do you feel about spending a couple of weeks learning how to use Litestep and then spending some more time configuring it with manual parameters in a text file?
There are no themes already made like that as far as I know, you'd have to make it yourself.

I believe that is a Talisman theme. You can download Talisman from http://www.lighttek.com
You may be able to find the theme linked to at the Lighttek site, or try http://www.deviantart.com

You might also want to look at the work of The_Artist. His themes are on display in the DesktopX section.

No tinkergaloot, I don't think it's a Talisman theme. It actually looks to be an actual screenshot of Longhorn, as there are others on the same site: http://www.etplanet.net/windows/longhorn/

BTW, can Talisman do the notes thing and save them? I don't think so, as I don't think DX can either.

It looks a bit similar to a Talisman theme I used to use, Eyegrabber (similar colouring, same wallpaper), the other reason I thought it might be Talisman is the alpha transparent boxes in the bottom right above the clock, Talisman uses those as wallpaer changers/resizers etc.
Interesting thing about the Longhorn build number, I've seen other screen shots with the same build number that look nothing like that.

tinkergaloot, that is a longhorn screen. I believe they simply have multiple or varying gui's. Ive seen that background with the lighter colored weather panel thingy, and also with different backgrounds. I think the link paxx posted may have some of them, if not im sure a few tech sites have em

I don't believe it's a longhorn screen shots.. the icons are from different os's some of them seem to be from 98 and such... that bar along the top right... those icons don't match at all... they are a different theme... and this is a very dramatic change from the rest of the screen shots... from what i've seen of longhorn... this is going a completely different direction...

I am not sure but I think it says Longhorn on the top left center of the image.

At any rate you have given me an idea. I need to work on my Visual Basic code and I think I can do something like that with DX. But that will be a long way off. I was also trying to get a calender too using VB but no luck.

So all I can say is that it is possible but no one I know of has done it yet.

Ask Jafo about LiteStep. I never heard of Talisman being able to do that but if it does that would be cool.
