Is there anyway to choose which order stacked fleets will defend in?

When fleets are stack I can't seem to find the "Pass" button so I have to move them and hope that I do it right so that the fleets are stacked. Am I missing the button?

When the confirm battle window comes up I would like to know what is fighting, by either centering on it or by showing in the window what is fighting.

You aren't missing anything, the stacked ships UI is horrible. You really need to be able to select a ship or fleet and get the regular ship/fleet UI.
