Phoenix 0.5 is Good :)

Just downloaded the new version and it's noticably faster + cleaner interface. It also plays nice with WindowBlinds unlike Mozilla from which it was derived Definitely better than previous releases, and excellent for a .5 release

I urge you to check out the Orbits 3.1+ theme for Phoenix (available at mozdev).

Until the news item pops up on the front page of WC, go to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/phoenix/phoenix-release-notes.html

One other nice goodie, the interface is 100% customizable via drag-n-drop. Extremely quick, good, and smooth

Strange that you expereince such differences though, 'cos it's the exact same codebase, just different packaging. What version of Mozilla have you tried last?

i've never had issues with windowblinds and mozilla. i have yet to figure out why mozilla is a stardock set application exception.

Hmm, perhaps you're not on XP and might this have something to do with it:

"Phoenix users using the Classic (default) theme on Windows XP have long enjoyed a browser that blends in with their operating system. With 0.5, people on other flavors of Windows can experience that too thanks to the fix for bug 172751 (the OS now largely draws our widgets on Windows 9x, NT and 2K)."

Anyhow, it's solved. And that's what counts.

I've had problems with buttons being too large. In fact, I even had that problem on Phoenix with the tab buttons on certain skins. I think it might be the way the actual bitmap of the toolbar button is. I don't know if the problem still exists though.

/me to Crae, I've been running WinXP Pro since last August.

/me to Hail, tabs on Orbitz 3.1+ are about twice as high as I'd like. But unless someone mentions it, I don't really even notice.

That's odd. It actually looks like the correct size on mine. I guess it must have to do with some other setting.
And although Mozilla and Phoenix are based on the same codebase, why is it that Phoenix doesn't skin the scrollbars with the WB skin as Mozilla does?

windowblinds should not be able to skin the mozilla scrollbars seeing as mozilla uses a proprietary widget system which makes for it to be cross-platform and maintain the same look and feel across all platforms.

windowblinds will not skin phoenix scrollbars either. however, phoenix themes are allowed to skin the scrollbar.
