I only have 3 words to contribute to this discussion and they are intended only to the person acting as such - what a jerk. Why don't you go play with your ME based computer and figure out your own problem with the software if you're such a "know-it-all".

amen to bmetelsky.

you don't like xp? wow, good for you, but just because some of us like it doesn't mean we're wrong, nor does it mean we're not adults or mature.

so there! you big meanie!

I hate to say this but 'am using ME. I gave my XP to the wife as she needed it more than I did. If I wasn't so cheap I'd spend the money and get another XP for my machine. When I get pissed enough or see the need, I'll break down and buy another XP. The only draw back to
XP is that you cannot put it on 2 machines like all the prevoious OS's.

The 64 bit version of XP requires a 1Gb board, the current versions do not.
ANY o/s will run well with more grunt, Mandrake 8 and Red Hat 7 are good examples for a start.
Wombat can't see why a 'Superior Being' is bothering to run 'eye candy' on his developer's box .... nice black dos would be the go!
I ran 95, it was buggy but did the job for several years, made the mistake of upgrading to ME, better than 95 but not good.
Very happy with XP Pro, removed Messenger and several other 'not required' items, anything I can't remove I just ignore.
I dislike 'product activation' but I'm not using a ripped version ......

i think it's a good sign when you see flaws posted in opensource software...they get fixed that way...

microsoft hasn't proven themselves the leader of the security pack lately...

either way those of use who need to work on windows will continue to do so...
