Cannot use any cursor except the CursorFX Default [Solved]

I have used CursorFX for many years, but stopped last year after the problems windows 8 brought with compatibility. I tried again a few months ago but had a problem that no matter what theme i tried to apply it would not change from the default cursor that you get after installation. I could not seem to get it to work with any of the themes that come packaged or with any i downloaded from WinCustomize. So I uninstalled again.

Today I had an update for Start8 and thought id try CursorFX again, so installed it again through Stardock Central (CursorFX version 2.11), but I am still having the same issue. No matter what I try I cannot get any other theme to show except CursorFX Default. The theme I am trying to apply shows its preview animations in the current theme box after I hit apply, but my actual cursor is still the Default one. It is the same with any I download and try to apply. They show as my current theme, but my actual cursor remains the same.

I have tried to search this issue, but have not been able to find a solution, so apologise if this has been discussed before.

I would just like to be able to use CursorFX again.

Many Thanks for your time.

Try this: Go to  %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Stardock\CursorFX and delete what is there  and then try changing cursors.

@ Moby19   You may want to add (Solved) to the title of your post so that others who may run into this issue down the road will see there was a solution. Just a suggestion.
