hit ctrl-print scrn

that puts a copy of your desktop into the clipboard. Open the graphics program of your choice, paste it in there and save it as a .jpg file

...and if you don't have in your keyboard the button PrtScn, that's the big question for which I need some answer???
The third party utilities are missing something, for example they are not capturing the logon-logof screens.
How can I find which button in my keyboard is doing the work of PrtScn???
Does anybody hear has the knowgledge about it?

adni.... my key reads "Print Screen/Sys Rq
.....does that help?

Hi Koasati Thank you for your answer, any idea how this command can help?
I thought maybe you had a keyboard key marked Sys Rq, and if you did, that would be the Print Screen key.
oh well.... surely someone knows the answer.

Adni...you are on a laptop, aren't you?
Documentation for it 'should' explain alternate key-presses for a 'full' keyboard function...

Well, obviously I can't take this as a personal attack...
I tried though.

Is it easier to make graphics on a laptop in comparison to a desktop? I only used a laptop one time and the pad seemed harder to work than a mouse. Is it in fact easier to draw with?
Sally....I doubt it, but like anything else, if you get used to it for long enough you can draw with almost anything...

If you don't have the print/scrn button, just hit cntrl/c and open your graphics program and hit cntrl/v and it will paste. Cntrl/v works with the prnt/scrn button to folks 4 strokes = 1 screenshot.... (copy, paste, open, save)

Thank you for your answers
No Paul, I don't work any more with my laptop, I just have a keyboard without the prnt/scrn button.

Hi Ruchele, I have try what you said, with Control c and Control v with no success Am I missing something?

Memorize the desktop, grab a pen and a piece of paper, draw the desktop, scan it, colorize it in any graphics prog and voila

Print-screen button?!?!?! gimme a break will ya?! sheeeeshh... you guys always have to make it so complicated :/

control c doesn't for me either adni.............why not get a keyboard with ALL the keys intact.

He he, you have a point Koasati , but I love my keyboard and I don't want to change it just for that missing button. I thought that maybe someone may know an answer to that problem, someone who knows how the keyboard are sending the commants to Windows OS.

Good answer Snowman, I love it!

You could also buy a copy of "Snagit" It works fine, but they charge you more money for just about
any change they make to it. They alienated me years ago, but I still have the program installed here
somewheres.... almost never use it.

Ooooops, I see another stupid comment by me in here, this skinbrowser really could use a "delete personally made comment" button. It would be most helpful IMHO.

Thank yo for your answers sedmunds and JamMeister33

I have utilities that can take a screeshot, the problem is that they can not take screenshots of the logon and logof screens and also they don't understand the shadows and the popup info that Windows XP give us on the mouse over.
I understand that the subject has not much interest for you or the programers, because almost everyone have the button PrntScrn on they keyboards, but I was hoping some good programer could read this and maybe have an answer about it.
