What are you thankful for?

I know thanksgiving is an American thing (me bein’ an American an’ all) but anyone from any other country please feel free to chirp in as I think the idea of being thankful is universal and I embrace the diversities that make us who we are as a whole world.

What am I thankful for? (Why thank you for asking, he-he)

I am thankful for my precious daughter…that lovely girl I gave birth to who laughs at my stupid jokes, teases me when I act like a goofball and loves me just as unconditionally as I love her.

I am thankful for the kindness of strangers from all over the world via the wonderful World Wide Web…thank heavens for the connecting of people of all races from all kinds of places that connect our lovely planet like one giant, homespun quilt stitched together…*smile*

I am thankful for the people who take that “extra” step to extend and expend their time and energy to be kind and helpful when they don’t have to. I am soooooooo thankful for the friends I’ve made and the future friends I want to make and keep and I cherish my friends dearly (after all, you CAN choose your friends but ya can’t choose your family). You, my dear friends (you know who you are) are CHOSEN which makes friendship all that more special…we care for each other and we are bonded.

I am thankful for every day I have a roof over my head and food in my tummy and a computer that connects to my pathetic dial-up () and I’m so very grateful for the luxuries I now have after I’d grown up so poor with my second hand clothes and my mother being a single mom who barely made it day to day and many Thanksgivings we were blessed with donations from kind strangers to feed us a feast we could have never otherwise afforded.

Okay, so maybe there is war and famine and sadness but I do hold out hope that one day that can all be eradicated and we can all be equals…brothers and sisters for the greater good of woman/mankind…

Peace and blessings to everyone,

AngEla

P.S. Please don’t find this barf worthy…I just want to feel thankful is all

P.S.S. (((((((((HUG)))))))))))

Hmmmmmm.

I'm thankful for a cold beer with a thick head (not to be confused with my thick head).

I'm thankful for HOT pizza that makes it to my doorstep on time and...

I'm thankful for a warm woman who can make me forget about the above two things and just make me...forget

Angela, Those are wonderful thoughts of Thanksgiving that anyone would be hard pressed to improve on. I tend to reflect on the things I'm thankful for as well this time of year.

I'm thankful for the ones closest to me, the ones I can count on to always be there. I'm thankful for my son and daughter and my brothers and sister, you may choose your friends but you'd think I had hand picked them. I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head and all the material things under it...especially my computers I'm thankful that I've held the same position for the last ten or so years that pays for that roof over my head and my computer addiction!

But I'm mostly thankful for a special someone that has been a part of my life for the last couple of years...and hopefully for the rest of my years.

I'm also thankful for this wonderful site and all the fantastic artwork everyone here has done.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for all my close friends whom I can share sorrow and happiness with.
I am thankful to those who rated my beetle cursor from the initial 6 up to the excellent 10 after 4000 downloads. I am thankful for getting there on my own strength.
I am thankful that I have the time to put paint on canvases and the support I get from close friends to make my work better. I am thankful, that, if I participate in exhibitions I never go home with all my work again. I am thankful that my work always goes to the people who give it a warm place in their heart and doesn't go to moneygrabbers who tend to make money out of it.

Great posts...if I were an Aussie I guess I'd understand what or where "aafuss" is.

"Oops, I forgot I'm thankful for Wincustomize and for them putting up with my mushy posts!

Hmmm. I just realized that even though I purchased Object Desktop and skinbrowser I don't have the skinbrowser icon on my posts. Oh well, just thinking aloud (a dangerous thing to do sometimes, I know ).

And now for a preview of the "Smileys gone wild video"...

A 'Wizop' is an 'Admin' whose responsibility is to look after the submission moderation and keep an eye on how the 'community' is behaving.
The 'Admin' Admins look after site coding, etc...

I'm grateful that each day I manage to make the transition from unconscious 'sleep' to conscious 'awake', successfully.

One day, it won't happen....

I'm also grateful for Stardock's selflessness in providing an excellent site and fostering its community...

Well, ya know a gallon or two of extremely illegal home brew will cure you of any worries in the morning...

Shiny buttons..... or plain ones if I want.
Flashy scroll bars... or plain ones if I want.
Fantasy desktop themes.....or plain ones if I want.
Variegated colors..... or plain ones if I want.
Hidden object bars.... or regular ones if I want.
Fancy icons.... or plain ones if I want.
A Mac OS looking dockbar... or none if I want.

A computer that lets me imagine all this. A brain that does too.

A company that understands the extreme value of the concept "or" and "if I want"

friendship, love, peace, hope

and chocolate

Well, I wish I could say that I am thankful for new friends...
That would be a lovely, nice, comfortable concept wouldn't it?
Life unfortunately deals you the same hand of cards that you see
all day, every day, in every way.
I'm so used to it now that it has no power over me anymore.
I deal with it as it flows towards me...
And I'm sure good at that.
