Dark/Black Background + White Text

Is there a good windowblind screen that has black background and white text? My eyes have become very sensitive to light and they are starting to hurt when I read on white background too long.

In addition, is there a way to override webpages so that they will display with black background and white text as well?

I'm not sure, but I will advise you not to go with white on black. I have the same problem, and I have found that dark grey on light grey or vice versa is much better. Go to ArsTechnica: ( http://www.arstechnica.com/ ) and take a look at the color scheme.

My eyes can't handle that for more than 5 or 10 minutes, and it takes just as long to get over it.

I think the problem people have is not so much the color, but the contrast. Take a look at my screenshot, that is about as much contrast as I am comfortable with when I am not working.

Where did you get your color theme? Is that available anywhere? It looks very nice. Another question I have is how do you deal with web pages? Is there away to completely override webpage settings?

Thanks. that is a theme for Talisman that I put together, haven't uploaded it anywhere yet becuase it is based on a beta verison of Talisman. You can set almost all the colors for Windows, though, even most application backgrounds. My programming IDE, etc., are all set to a grey/grey to reduce the contrast.

If you want to go the windowblinds route Dangeruss ( https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=DangeRuss&sort=updatedate&order=Descending&library=1 )has a couple of really nice low-conterast themes if I recall. Look at RackAmp or Despair. I'm sure there are other, low-contrast themes by other authors as well, I am not all that familiar with Windowblinds.

No, sadly, to my knowledge there is no way to change the web page colors on-the-fly, unless the sites themselves offer the option.

Atip go to your IE properties menu and try the colors button or you can change some colors by going to the accessabily button. Small settings that can a big difference in visual aspects.

Atip...
Just modify your monitor's brightness and contrast levels...and while you are at it do NOT try to be trendy and go for a silly resolution that is just too small/big [depending on how you want to phrase it], and make sure your refresh rate is MORE than 60hz, preferably over 75.

Do all that and virtually any skin or image will be OK....again, though, still avoid large expanses of light intensity [white]....
