'Stretch' has gone walkabout

In display properties>background I use to have three options: Tile, Center, and Stretch. When I applied SP3 (win2K), I lost Stretch...which really bums me out Does anyone know how I can get that back?? I would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks

I have Win2k with sp3, and all three settings are there on my computer. I did a search in the registry, but all I could find was several CLSID settings referring to "stretch", but I don't think they were the right ones. Couldn't even tell what program they were with. (maybe PSP)

I was think about the sequence of events during the sp3 install. I believe I also updated my Catalyst drivers for my Radeon board. Is it possible that the Catalyst update could have done this?

Don't know. I checked what happens in the registry (with Regmon.exe)when changing between stretch and tile and it looks like rundll32 goes to HKCU/Control Panel/Desktop and does the following:

To stretch:
TileWallpaper=0
WallpaperStyle=2

To tile:
TileWallpaper=1
WallpaperStyle=0

to center:
TileWallpaper=0
WallpaperStyle=0

Don't know if this will help or not, but I tried.

Thanks so much...I can, indeed, get the stretch option to function this way. Perhaps a little batch file thingy would be in order. I appreciate your help Jebland

Well, the question is, why doesn't the system do it? It's most strange. Maybe one of the "real geeks" at this site will come along and offer some help on this.

And, you are welcome. After all, what are neighbors for if not to help.
