WinStyles Suckes

Hi

WinStyles Sucks!!
I've problem downloading Winstyle themes. After clicking the link Winstyles come up. It says that it is connected and thats it. After a while i got an timeout and after a while a more seriius screen.
Downloading WB thes etc. gives no problem
The answer i got is that it is maybe a firewall and that it must be configured so that Wincustomize hass FULL ACCESS.
Pffff FULL ACCESS???? Why? I only want to download something!
Anyone out there with the same problem? Or maybe another solution???

Sounds like it might possibly be your firewall, try turning it off and see if Winstyles works then...
Just a suggestion.

Possibly the answer lies in something simple.
Seems when something sucks with me it is something I am doing wrong.
No comment

There is also nothing wrong with adding some sites to a trusted zone.
How many have blank trusted zones in their internet security options?

Could it be XP? The guys at Stardock say WS uses standard HTTP requests. When using the links in the WS theme, the WB themes etc download and install OK. Only when using WS itself for downloading the themes gives a time out.

Do you know what version you are running?I had lots of trouble out of the latest,I'm not sure what version,I think 1.3?maybe.Anyhow,thru the Component Manager I reloaded 1.2?,I think,and everythings workin well.elvee might have a solution but ya might have freaked em out by saying WinStyles suckes,,,,I dunno.He usually has some very good advice about WS.

All programs related to the WS theme you choose must be installed as well.There are quite a few.Maybe this could be the cause of your problem??

I will try an older version. The .XPTheme files run OK, only the .Suite files give me the problem. I've spoken already to elvee, With him i started because i could not download a theme from him
First i will try an older version!

I ve installed an other firewall at home and now its working. Strange!! What would haven been blocked?
