Rejection, Moderated? and not hot and bothered, except........

Please remember that when an image or skin is rejected or moderated, it is quite often the decision of more than one of the admins. In fact, it's possible that the person who wanted your image to get through is the one who pushes the button to moderate it.
It all depends who is working in the moderation area at any given time.

Slinky: I understand that you are not complaining, but you would be surprised at the amount of hate mail we get just for moderating stuff. It's quite depressing really, especially when they attack your own personal uploads with vicious comments etc.
I am very flattered that you consider me an "Idol". Although I think there are many more artists that deserve that title rather than myself. I'm just an ordinary Joe fiddling around in Photoshop who still considers himself a newbie, and throws away more stuff than he keeps! And I must stress that being an artist myself, (and one who has been moderated many times) I really do suffer when moderating walls and stuff, and I hate sending the rejection mails. (I tend to leave my thoughts in the comment area and hope someone else will push the button, but don't tell the other moderators! )

I am hoping that soon we will have a way of sending the moderation e-mails without details of who sent it. I think that would be fairer for the people receiving them, and for the person who has to do the moderating.

I agree with you BoXXi...anonymity should protect a moderator so that they are not singled out as "the bad guy" especially when the moderating process is really a decision made by more than a single being here.

BTW...when you gonna have that spot of tea with me?

Yes, BoXXi is a 'bit of a chicken' at times, and yet he's one of the more profficient wall artists that moderates...

Perhaps it is that involvement with walls that tends to make him a particularly juicy target for vitriolic complaint. Me? I auto-moderated myself, restricting my walls to just two [and stagnating well, they are, too], but between all who do participate in 'moderation', there is a diverse and lengthy experience in graphic/digital art.

As for having an 'idol' moderate your work, that should be a 'good thing'...sooner that than some hopeless tyre-kicker [like me]..

Thanks for the support Angela, I believe you and I have discussed this point before, when we talked about the moderation of one of your images. I believe it was a borderline decision, and because of that we tried to offer constructive criticism.
You see? we're not that bad really!

I would love to have a cup of tea with you, should only take me about 25 hours to get there, so keep the kettle boiling!!

Oh, Please. Just a little humor Boxxi. It was meant with a little lighthearted . I read these boards and was trying to convey "not the end of the world as we know it". I know there is a lot of complaining about rejections and your contribution as a moderator must be difficult at times. As for the "idol" remark, you do happen to be my favorite artist on the site and that's okay. I love much of the art here. I didn't realize my post may have brought up some bad experiences. Egg on face! Hope it helps the complextion.
