WindowsBlinds defaults to basic theme on shutdown/restart

I have already searched for a solution but found none, so I am forced to post here.
Details:
WindowsBlinds 8, Stardock Fences 2.0, Windows 7 SP1

Problem:
The software works correctly but at startup it always defaults to the standard windows theme, so I have to manually go into settings and re-apply my theme at shutdown/restart.
I have tried adding windowsblinds exe to startup folder but this just loads the config panel and it still defaults to windows basic theme.

Please advise on fix.

It might be the Antivirus app has hindered/intercepted the service which Windowblinds needed to load every time you boot the system. Try to disable Antivirus app temporarily and re-stall WB again.

Which theme exactly is it?

Windows Aero, Windows 7 basic, or Windows classic?

If it is Aero or basic you have something on your machine which is actively resetting the theme.  If it is classic you have something that's blocking WB startup.  Typically this would be some over active Antivirus or anti malware software which likes to do things without telling you.

Thank you for responding.

The desktop reset to 'Windows 7 basic' theme, according to Control Panel> personalisation.

Also, Stardock Fences keeps showing the following pop-up message(1) that goes away when manually reapplying theme via Windows blinds Control Panel.

(1)"Fences folder portals feature is unavailable in classic mode. Please enable Aero to use this feature."

Despite this pop-up, fences still works, but it is very annoying to have it repeatedly appear. Also, it is Windows basic, not classic.

I do not think it is caused by antivirus software because the only antivirus I had installed was 'Windows Security essentials'. I have since installed NOD32, but this problem started long before that.

What I don't understand is why putting a shortcut to the Windows blinds EXE in start-up doesn't cure the problem. It seems to me that it is Windows blinds itself that is resetting to Windows basic theme and not some external program. Is there any kind of script I could run at start-up to automatically reset the correct theme?

Windowblinds has it's own service running on the background which cannot be done by manually adding .exe on start-up.

Have you consulted Stardock Support regarding your problem? If not, I'd advise you to do so.

In your email, please add the url of this thread as well the "About" info regarding your Windowblinds.

Don't reply until an actual person answers your request for help as that will kick your request for help to the end of the queue. Keep that autoreply as it has your ticket number (which you can add to your original post).

Is this a laptop or desktop? If a laptop is it being started on battery or plugged in? Do you have any power saver settings enabled that may disable DWM on startup?
