MAC OSX SCROLLING MENU ZOOMER THINGY

Anyone know of or can create an object bar I can import with ObjectBar that will allow me to have a vertical menu bar that scrolls up and down while it zooms, like in Mac OS X? Id' like to be able to put all my program shortcuts on that. Thanks in Advance

you mean a vertical dock?

well, i guess somebody could create that. but instead of waiting for that you can give Y´z Dock by Mr. Yamaguchi a try. excellent freeware program and the fastest Dock emulation around.

go here: http://www.h5.dion.ne.jp/~yzathome/software/yzdock/index_en.html

also have a look at his other applications Y´z Shadow and Y´z Toolbar.

That is a great program with one exception - its a pain to get the icons for your shortcuts - especially for office because all of the icons are in the exe and i dont know how to extract them. plus when you drag an icon into it - it does not copy the target properly. Any other ideas?

first of all you don´t drag icons onto it. drag and drop entries from your start menu and the targets including arguments will work fine.

Y´z Dock does not use icons but 128x128 sized PNGs. you can extract PNGs from ICO files easily. folloe these instructions by Marvilla:

QUOTE:

"Just use IconWorkshop 5.01:
Axialis IconWorkshop 5.01 http://www.axialis.com/
Open up any icon you want in it. Select (highlight) the 128 X 128 size, right-click and choose Export\PNG with Transparency (or Ctrl+Shft+T) and save in the Y'z Dock\icons folder. Just two clicks and you can turn any icon you have there into a PNG for this dock"

You can just rename any icon to a png and that works - my problem is that for like office the icons are stored in the exe and i dont know how to extract it form there

Andrew... you can open the exe with Iconworkshop and export the icons as png.

Moshi.... The one thing I can't figure out with Y'z Dock is how to remove an icon(png) from the dock. Got a suggestion?

dOH! Nevermind Moshi..........I got it. I hate it when I ask a question and suddenly realize I haven't tried something simple, and it works.

You just drag it off the dock, and it's gone.......again I say dOH!

Try MobyDock http://emaculation.webicane.com/
I like it better than Y Dock. MobyDock emulates the Mac dockbar much better. I think you can only dock it on the bottom though.

jarget: that´s why i suggested Y´z Dock. Andrew wanted a vertical bar

to me Y´z Dock seems faster than MobyDock. your experiences?

It is definitely faster. What bugs me is, that the dock is 'always on top' though...

as Mr. Yamaguchi has got a black belt in coding, i expect that to be changed to an option soon.

Y´z Dock is better than Moby dock: it runs faster, icon resizes are better, and it have very similar use to original OSX dock. It only remains the hot key to show/hide the dock (apple+option+d keys on OSX)
It remains the tasks previews too.
It will be good to use the resources of file (icon or preview of the file). Of course, it remains the trash scan. The clock is a application apart of the dock on osx.
