Yeah, from all accounts he was a decent guy who did a lot for charity. He died while taking a 5 minute break from his charity event in support of victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
So yeah, let's all rag on him for not being Daniel Day-Lewis... 
I'd rather people be judged on how they treat their fellow humans than how good they are at their job. By that measure, it sounds like he comes out being a better person than most of us.
