Pricing question

This has nothing to do with WC, but I'm guessing that some people have experience with this subject.

A new client has just asked me to make a logo for his dental business, but I have never created a logo for pay before. About how much should I charge for a logo? If you can't answer directly, what are some general pricing guidelines?

Should be nothing less than your expertise warrants...at least comparable with any Professional's fee structure....work it out on an hourly basis...charge for time at a rate above your country's average wage....

An interesting point....FIA doesn't pay the F1 Grand Prix officials in Oz.....they couldn't afford what we are worth...

Do a bit of 'googling' for logo design and get a feel for pricing. When a client approaches you for a new logo, it's a good bet that they're also going to be in the market for: new business cards, stationary, adverts, signage, yellow pages ad, etc... Try to sell 'em a package deal that includes the whole mess. Once you do the logo and typo, the rest of the 'kit' is easy money. Good Luck!

googling

Remember how Xerox went from a brand name to a generic term for copying? I wonder if googling will become the generic term for searching the net.
