comments arent always the sign of good work its whether it continues to get downloads after the first 2 or 3 days thats the true sign

Or when downloads go into the multi-thousands.

Then there are skins like https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=589 which are in the multi-thousands and someone gave it a 1 and brought the rating down to a 4. (would you rate to counterbalance the 1 please?)

i have only had 3 walls go above 1000 but 3 are only about 15 off and will prolly reach it by tommarrow, and only 2 have made it past 2000 and only 1 past 3000 =D im uploading a new one as soon as it finishes rendering (darn old technology )

I don't think high downloads necessarily mean good creative original work.............most of the time it simply means it's a 'popular' style.
For instance Brittany Spears sells a lot of CD's................but is her music good creative, original work?
But it seems many skinners are after the downloads, and popularity, more than skinning for themseves, and sharing.
Sure, I'd like to be in the top ten, but if I get there, it will because people like what I do, not because I do what people like.

WOM: I was sad to hear that if people don't acknowledge your comments that you cease to comment on their work. That's a shame for someone like me, who is always very busy on here, and in the real world. I have very little time to do what I do, yet I still read my comments, and enjoy them immensely! I literally do not have the time sometimes to answer every comment. If you saw how much e-mail alone I get every day, you would surely sympathise. I hope you continue to comment on my work, even though I may not always have the chance to thank you.
